KHACHANOV VS BLOCKX

Karen Khachanov and Alexander Blockx match up in an improbable US Open quarter final.

Blockx has seen off a pair of higher seeds to get to this stage, while Khachanov toppled Félix Auger-Aliassime in the second round and got the better of Learner Tien in a round of 16 epic.

The match is scheduled to start at 01:30am AEST on Thursday, September 10, with the winner going on to meet either Alexander Zverev or Botic van de Zandschulp in the final four.

Quick Picks

Our pick: Alexander Blockx to win

Value bet: Alexander Blockx to win and both players to win a set

Long shot: Alexander Blockx to win 3-1

Betting Preview

Khachanov has rolled back the years at this US Open. The veteran came from behind to beat Auger-Aliassime and Tien to reach a seventh Grand Slam quarter-final of his career.

The most recent came at Wimbledon in 2025, but this is the first time Khachanov has been beyond the second round at the US Open since he made the semi-final in 2022.

Nine years younger than his opponent, Blockx has been one of the ATP Tour’s breakout performers in 2026.

The Belgian hadn’t reached the first round of a Grand Slam until this year’s Australian Open. He’s now a Grand Slam quarter-finalist with a legitimate chance of making the semis.

Nursing leg and back injuries, Blockx dug deep to seen off Francisco Cerúndolo in four sets in the fourth round. It was a gutsy performance after losing the second set.

That win followed Blockx coming from a set down to blow away fifth seed Flavio Cobolli.

After losing the first set, the young Belgian dropped only six games as he won in four.

This is the first-ever match between Khachanov and Blockx. Neither came into the US Open in the best form.

Khachanov had lost four matches in a row and only had one three-match winning streak in 2026. Blockx had underwhelmed after reaching the semis in Madrid.

Betting Markets To Watch

Khachanov is the clear betting favourite to win this match, despite sitting 16 places behind Blockx in the rankings.

Bookies clearly believe in experience being a key factor for this contest and may be wary of Blockx’s health after a visit from the physio in his fourth-round match.

If you are new to betting on the US Open, it is worth getting across how the markets work before you get on.

But since the start of the clay-court swing, Blockx has only lost to two players outside the world’s top 20. Khachanov may be playing at a far higher level than his ranking suggests, but it still doesn’t feel great discounting Blockx.

In fact, we like backing Blockx to win at his current price precisely because there are question marks over whether Khachanov has sustain the standard he’s reached at the tournament so far.

Coming off an epic win over Tien, fatigue could also be a factor for Khachanov if this match gets taken deep.

If he’s shaken off the niggling injuries from the other day, Blockx’s fresher legs should stand him in good stead if this reaches a fourth and/or fifth set. Plus. Blockx is rapid – seriously rapid. So Khachanov is going to find it tough to shake him off.

Our Prediction

Head to Sportsbet for the latest Karen Khachanov vs Alexander Blockx odds .

We predict Blockx will win this match and earn his first Grand Slam semi-final appearance.

It’s a hard match to call with both players defying the odds to reach this stage, so we think it’s worth backing both players to win a set.

Along the same lines, a correct score pick of Blockx to win 3-1 is a decent option for bettors in search of longer odds.
