Wimbledon 2025 - De Minaur vs Cazaux Betting Tips

03/07/2025|SB Staff|Tennis Tips & Predictions

Alex de Minaur has kept his hopes alive of having another successful tournament on the famous grass courts of Wimbledon.

Australia’s men’s number 1 reached the quarter-finals of last year’s competition, before he was beaten by Novak Djokovic with a walkover. This year, he began his campaign with a straight-sets victory over Roberto Carballes.

Arthur Cazaux awaits him in the second round after the Frenchman managed to defeat Australian Adam Walton in a five-set thriller. Will he be able to oust another Aussie, having entered the tournament as a qualifier?

De Minaur vs Cazaux Wimbledon Betting Preview

De Minaur will want to avoid making it a second Aussie in a row that Cazaux has eliminated at this year’s Wimbledon, and his opening performance does suggest he will be challenging to defeat.

The 26-year-old managed to beat Carballes over three sets, recording a 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) victory. In that contest, he managed eight aces, winning 81% of his points on his first serve. However, he struggled to make his first serve count, as he was only successful with 48% of them.

De Minaur’s perfect start came after a disappointing warm-up tournament at the HSBC Championships, where he was beaten in the first round by the eventual runner-up, Jiri Lehecka.

Still, Cazaux could be a potential threat as the two have never met before. The 22-year-old Frenchman ousted Aussie Walton in five sets, recording a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1 victory on Court 6. He recorded 24 aces and won 84% of his points from his first serve, making 71% of his attempts successfully.

His longest winning streak was four games in a row, although De Minaur had managed to record a streak of seven against Carballes.

De Minaur vs Cazaux Betting Predictions

What do the latest De Minaur vs Cazaux betting odds look like? Well, the Australian is a big favourite to come out on top. Previous experience at Wimbledon is perhaps a reason, with the second round the furthest Cazaux has ever reached, having reached this stage last season before being eliminated.

It also might be because Alex De Minaur has won each of his last 10 ATP second-round matches against younger opponents. Still, there’s value to be had while Wimbledon has already proved that nothing is guaranteed with shock eliminations this year.

De Minaur has won the first set in each of his last seven Grand Slam second-round matches, which may appeal to those seeking value in the Correct Score 1st Set market. Backing the Aussie to win 6-1 or 6-2 offers longish odds, although it's still plausible.

If Cazaux can produce a similar performance, the Alternative Total Sets market may be of interest, as the ‘Over 4.5' odds are high and represent value.
