The ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati Open is the final event of this ranking level before the final major of the season, and offers some of the world’s best players a chance to prepare themselves for the hard courts of the US Open.

It’s a huge event, with the winner scooping up 1,000 ranking points and a prize of AU$1.6 million. This year’s main draw will begin on Thursday, August 13, with the final scheduled for Sunday, August 23 (local time). For us, that means the final is likely to be played in the early hours on Monday morning.

Quick Picks

Our pick: Djokovic to win

Value bet: Fritz each-way

Long shot: Shelton each-way

Betting Preview

The 2026 Masters ATP 1000 Cincinnati Open is arguably wide open this year, as both Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are not going to be involved. World number 1 Sinner has withdrawn because of an ongoing knee injury, putting his status as questionable ahead of the US Open.

The Spaniard, meanwhile, is still recovering from a wrist injury that has seen him miss most of the season.

Alexander Zverev will be participating, though, and will be looking to improve on his Round of 64 exit in the last tournament in Montreal.

Taylor Fritz won that competition and is scheduled to compete in this one too, while old warrior Novak Djokovic is set to participate in an event for the first time since Wimbledon and go for a fourth title.

Other names making the field include Félix Auger-Aliassime, Alex de Minaur, Daniil Medvedev, and Ben Shelton.

Betting Markets to Watch

The early market is likely to favour Djokovic and Zverev , based on the experience the two men have.

The biggest issue for both, though, is that they have played limited tennis and haven’t really been in the best form, respectively. This could mean that their odds are actually shorter than they perhaps should be.

Of course, it will depend on the drawing of the brackets and the route to the final for each player. Once drawn, this could see the prices being offered change and provide more betting value.

Value may already be available in De Minaur and Fritz . Aussie De Minaur is known for his consistency and physical reliability, while the American comes into the event with a recent win and positive form on North American courts.

Auger-Aliassime could also have early value in the each-way, although his back injury is worth keeping an eye on. He had to withdraw from his home event a couple of weeks ago, and there may be question marks over his fitness here.

Our Prediction

We think Djokovic is the most likely winner , although that will depend on form and the side of the draw he is given.

Our value bet is Fritz as an each-way , as he enters following a win in Montreal. The long shot is Shelton , as he is strong on home courts and may want to prove a point in Masters 1000 action after being relatively inconsistent.
