Real Madrid and Juventus will renew one of European football's great rivalries when they clash at the Santiago Bernabéu on Wednesday, October 22, with kick-off at 12:00 AEST.

This UCL Matchweek 3 fixture is a meeting between two sides with contrasting fortunes so far in this season's Champions League campaign. The Spanish giants have made a perfect start under Xabi Alonso, while the Italian visitors are still searching for their first win after two frustrating draws.

Both clubs have a rich history in this competition, having met in two finals previously, but current form suggests this could be a one-sided affair when they face off in the Spanish capital this week.

Real Madrid vs Juventus: Betting Preview

Real Madrid have picked up where they left off last season, looking every bit the European champions in waiting under new boss Xabi Alonso.

Los Blancos have won both of their opening Champions League fixtures, starting with a nervy 2-1 home victory over Marseille before absolutely dismantling Kairat Almaty 5-0 away from home in their most recent European outing.

Kylian Mbappé, unsurprisingly, was the star of that show in Kazakhstan, bagging a hat-trick as Madrid put four goals past their opponents in the second half alone.

The French superstar has been in sensational form, leading the Champions League scoring charts with five goals already. His late strike against Getafe last weekend secured a 1-0 La Liga win and kept Madrid top of the Spanish domestic ladder, two points clear of Barcelona ahead of this weekend's Clásico.

Juventus, meanwhile, are enduring a frustrating period under Igor Tudor. The Bianconeri are winless in six consecutive matches across all competitions, with five of those ending in draws and their most recent outing resulting in a 2-0 Serie A defeat to Como.

Their Champions League campaign has been chaotic to say the least. Matchday 1 saw them concede twice in the closing stages against Borussia Dortmund, only to somehow score twice deep into stoppage time to salvage a 4-4 draw.

Last time out, they thought they'd done enough against Villarreal before Renato Veiga equalised in the dying moments for another 2-2 stalemate.

The two clubs have plenty of history in this competition, having met 21 times previously in Europe's elite tournament. Most memorable were the two finals between them in 1998 and 2017, with Real Madrid victorious on both occasions.

Real Madrid vs Juventus: Betting Predictions

The Real Madrid vs Juventus betting odds have the Spanish team as strong favourites, and it's difficult to argue against that assessment given the contrasting form of both sides.

Madrid have won nine of their last ten matches across all competitions, with their only defeat coming against Atlético Madrid in a wild 5-2 La Liga encounter. More importantly, they've won 12 of their last 13 home games in the Champions League group or league phase, with only AC Milan managing to beat them at the Bernabéu in the past two years.

Juventus arrive in Spain having failed to win any of their last 11 away matches in the Champions League proper. That's a shocking statistic for a club of their stature, and it's hard to see that run ending against a Madrid side firing on all cylinders.

Our prediction is for a comfortable Real Madrid victory, and we think there's excellent value in backing the hosts with a goals handicap advantage.

The Spanish side should have enough quality to win by multiple goals against a Juve defence that has conceded six goals in just two Champions League matches this season.

Additional Betting Markets To Consider

Beyond the match result, there are several other markets worth exploring for this fixture.

Both Teams To Score - No

We like the value offered for backing 'No' in the Both Teams To Score market. Juventus have managed just six goals in their last 11 Champions League away matches and have struggled to create clear-cut chances on their travels.

With Madrid's defence looking more solid in recent weeks, we'd back the hosts to keep a clean sheet.

Under 10.5 Total Corners

Real Madrid have gone under 10.5 corners in six consecutive matches, averaging 9.1 corners per game across their last ten fixtures.

While they dominate possession at home, they don't always rack up huge corner counts. We think there's value in backing the unders here.

Player Props: Kylian Mbappé Anytime Goalscorer

The French forward has been unstoppable this season, leading the Champions League scoring charts and finding the net consistently in La Liga as well. With Juventus' defensive struggles on the road, we'd back Mbappé to add to his tally. He's been Real Madrid's go-to man in big games and should relish the opportunity against Serie A opposition.

Player Props: Kenan Yıldız Under 0.5 Shots On Target

The Turkish winger for Juventus hasn't managed a shot on target in three consecutive games. Given Real Madrid's quality and their ability to control matches at the Bernabéu, we'd expect Yıldız to continue that trend in this fixture.
