Napoli vs Roma Prediction and Betting Odds

Three goals conceded in seven Serie A matches. That's the wall Napoli have to break down in Naples this weekend, and Massimiliano Allegri reportedly has his job riding on the result.
Roma arrive third and still unbeaten in the league under Gian Piero Gasperini. Napoli sit ninth, seven points behind them, and they're still smarting from a 1-0 loss at a Venezia side that hadn't won a game all season.
Before we get to our full preview, here are the key details:
- Competition: Serie A, Round 8
- Venue: Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Naples
- Date: Sunday, 25 October 2026
- Start Time: 3:00am AEDT
- Broadcast: beIN SPORTS (see our guide on how to watch Serie A in Australia)
Form and Head to Head
Napoli's season has been all over the shop. They bounced back from that Venezia defeat by beating Bodø/Glimt 4-3 in the Champions League on Tuesday, with Scott McTominay scoring twice, but the game also showed the problem.
Allegri's side keep leaking goals, and they let in two second-half goals at home and needed a late own goal to get over the line.
The Venezia loss was just as strange: Napoli had 29 shots and Kevin De Bruyne had a penalty saved.
Roma have won five and drawn two of their seven league games, scoring 16 and conceding only three.
Their one defeat in all competitions came against Real Madrid, who scored three goals in the last seven minutes to win 4-3 in Rome, and Roma answered by thumping Slovan Bratislava 4-0.
The head to head favours Napoli, though. Roma haven't beaten them in the last five Serie A meetings, and three of those ended level, including a 2-2 at the Maradona in February.
Team News
Roma's injury list is the bigger story. Paulo Dybala (calf), Manu Koné (thigh) and Lorenzo Pellegrini (muscle) are all out. Mile Svilar's broken toe keeps Pierluigi Gollini in goal, though Bryan Cristante is back in the squad after a knee problem.
The good news for Gasperini is that Donyell Malen is back from suspension, and he scored both Roma goals in that February draw. Napoli are without Alessandro Buongiorno, David Neres, Antonio Vergara, Favasuli and Alisson Santos.
Rasmus Højlund had started every game until Allegri benched him at Venezia, saying he might need a rest, and that matters with a trip to Monza coming up on Wednesday.
Napoli vs Roma Prediction: Our Pick
Our pick: Draw
This one looks tight. Roma have conceded three league goals all season, but without Dybala, Koné and Pellegrini they lose a lot of their creativity and their bite in midfield.
Napoli have the attacking talent to trouble anyone, as the 29 shots at Venezia and four goals against Bodø/Glimt showed, but they can't keep it tight at the back.
Three of the last five Serie A meetings finished level, and two of those were 2-2 draws at this ground, so a shared result fits the recent pattern.
With both defences carrying question marks into Naples, it is worth checking the latest Serie A odds before settling on how to play this one.
The danger is McTominay, who's firing again after his heart procedure and has a habit of deciding big games on his own.
With a draw our call but both sides capable of nicking a goal, readers wary of being caught by a late winner might first weigh up what draw no bet means as a way to soften the result risk.
