The Tillies train rolls on!

Following a successful two-game window against Slovenia, the Matildas continue their preparation as Panama comes to town for another series of two matches.

And it’s not just Perth that will see Australia’s favourite team in action, with the first of the two-game series to be held in the city of Bunbury over the weekend before finishing back up in Perth on Tuesday.

It was almost the perfect, perfect start to life under new coach Joe Montemurro. A win in his first game in charge and had the Aussies well on the way to a second win before a late deflection meant that they finished Game 2 all square with Slovenia.

Yet, despite the late goal, it has been two impressive displays for the Matildas as they continue to trial new combinations around the park as they continue starting the preparations for the Asian Cup.

They get two more immediate chances to keep looking at things as Panama comes to town.

Matildas vs Panama Preview

Panama arrives in Down Under for the first time since the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup as the 56th-ranked team in the world.

Their last two performances have been impressive, scoring big wins over Bolivia in their most recent international window.

New coach Joe Montemurro has rotated his starting XI heavily over the past two weeks and looks like he will do that again, trying to find the next generation of Australian stars.

But as newbies look to fight for a spot, sharpshooter Michelle Heyman has shown no sign of slowing down. The 36-year-old continued to score goals. With superstar Sam Kerr back among the team (not in the playing squad) and increasing her training loads as she prepares to return, they could form a formidable duo up front.

With comings and goings from the Aussie camp, there will be chances for more Aussies to put their names up in lights.

Matildas vs Panama Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction (H2H)

Whenever and wherever the Matildas are playing, you know the place will be packed to the rafters.

It’s a special atmosphere that is reserved for them almost exclusively when it comes to women's sport in Australia. Especially with this opportunity to take a big game and a big team away from a capital city, giving women’s Football a chance to grow the game.

There is a gulf in class, considering how well Australia is ranked compared to their opposition. While anything can happen in football, we expect Australia to get it done.

Betting tip: Australia

Most Goals

What a welcome return it has been to the international pitch for Amy Sayer.

She scored a goal in the first game against Slovenia and continues to present and put herself in great positions to have shots at goal. We’re picking her to find the back of the net a few times against Panama and grow that international goal tally
