The two sides will meet again in England on Wednesday, March 18, at 07:00 AEDT.
Quick Picks
Our pick: Man City to win
Value bet: 'Yes' in the BTTS
Long shot: 'Over 3.5 goals' to hit
Betting Preview
Everyone had written off Real Madrid, but they showed why they never should be and why they have won the UCL 15 times.
An incredible first-half hat-trick by Federico Valverde put Man City to the sword in Spain, with the midfielder putting together a sensational performance. It didn't seem to matter that Madrid were missing players like top-scorer Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham.
City had many of their stars available in the first leg, but they were ineffective on the night. Guardiola's side can ill afford for that to happen once again when these two teams meet in the second leg.
Looking back on the first tie, Real Madrid had 11 attempts at goal, with seven on target. City had nine, but only five were on target. The English side had more of the ball, totaling 58% possession, and made significantly more passes, but they just couldn't do anything with the ball.
Betting Markets to Watch
With Man City having nothing to lose and having to go for it, we think there'll be value in the goals market.
As we noted in the previous preview before the first leg:
- Madrid's last four games had produced exactly three goals
- Madrid had conceded exactly one goal in each of their last five home games
- Man City had 3+ goals in three of their last four matches
- Five of Man City's last six games away in the UCL have seen both teams score
While many of those statistics came to an end, one didn't: Madrid had another game that produced exactly three goals.
Still, we think there'll be value in the 'Over 3.5 goals' market. City have to score three just to force extra-time; if Madrid scores one, City have to get another. Madrid could sit back and defend, but with their attacking quality, the 'Yes' in the BTTS looks likely to hit.
Our Prediction

We think it's likely that Man City will win, but Real Madrid will qualify for the next stage of the competition.
Our long shot is in the player prop markets, with Haaland and Mbappe as anytime goalscorers in this match. Both have been among the UCL's most lethal strikers in history, and have continued to perform in this season's competition.
Haaland will need to be at his best, and with Mbappe likely to be fit, it wouldn't be a surprise if he didn't add to his 13-goal tally in this year's competition. If you're new to Champions League betting, understanding these player markets can offer excellent value.
