Betting Preview

Crystal Palace will aim to become the third Premier League team to win this competition, following in the footsteps of fellow Londoners West Ham United and current holders Chelsea.

For those looking to understand how to bet on the Conference League, this final presents an intriguing clash of styles.

With two winners from the first four campaigns, it's perhaps supporting some of the arguments that have been held in the past about it being a tournament to favour an EPL team because of the strength and qualities they boast.

Indeed, outgoing manager Oliver Glasner will want to see his team follow suit.

Rayo Vallecano will make it difficult. They are aiming to become the first Spanish side to win it, with Real Betis the only other LaLiga team to reach this stage (losing to Chelsea).

Iñigo Pérez's side have been strong throughout the competition, whereas Palace have been a little up and down. Fortunately for the Eagles, they appear to have gotten better when the pressure is on them to perform well.

This was evident in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, where Palace managed to defeat Fiorentina 4-2 on aggregate and then Shakhtar 5-2 across the two legs.

Vallecano faced a scare in the quarter-finals against AEK Athens, but their first-leg victory was enough to win the tie 4-3 before two comprehensive 1-0 victories over Strasbourg sealed their place in the final.

Betting Markets to Watch

Perhaps due to the perceived strength of the EPL (although LaLiga probably isn't as far behind at this level), Crystal Palace are strong favourites in the moneyline odds.

As noted, they've had struggles in the early stages, but they've managed to find the right type of clinical form when they needed it most.

Those familiar with betting on the Premier League will recognise the resilience Palace have shown this season.

Vallecano have been beaten twice in the knockout stages so far, highlighting they can do enough to get through a two-legged tie, but defeats can occur in a single game.

They only lost once in the Group Phase, whereas Palace lost twice.

The English side lost once in the knockouts, though, and were never behind in a two-legged tie.

The BTTS hitting offers value worth exploring. Vallecano kept clean sheets in the semis, but have shown goals can be conceded at times in numbers.

Palace have kept three clean sheets in the knockouts, but teams with quality have punished them.

Understanding metrics like expected goals explained can help assess the attacking threat both sides pose.

Our Prediction

Our prediction is that Crystal Palace are likely winners.

The 'Over 2.5 Goals' market appears to offer some value in the early betting.

While the Spaniards kept their semi-final tie tight, they were more fluid in the quarters.

Palace showed they were clinical in the semis against Shakhtar and in the quarters against Fiorentina.
