Bayern Munich vs Arsenal Prediction and Betting Odds

Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: this could be one of the toughest games to call in matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League.

We’ve taken a look at some of the stats heading into this powerhouse of a clash, as last year’s runners-up head to Germany to take on Bayern Munich on Thursday, October 22.

Set your alarm clocks – kick-off is at 06:00am AEDT. With a start time that early, it is worth sorting out how to watch the UCL in Australia before kick-off.

Quick Picks

Our pick: Bayern/Draw Double Chance

Value bet: BTTS to hit

Long shot: ‘Over 2.5 Goals’

Betting Preview

Arsenal arrive in Germany with a 100% win record, with Mikel Arteta masterminding victories over Napoli and LOSC Lille 1-0 and 3-0, respectively.

Bayern are also unbeaten, but Vincent Kompany’s side have one win and a draw – a 5-0 win over Bodo/Glimt and a shock 3-3 draw against Viking FK.

In the game following that surprise draw, the Bundesliga side regrouped and destroyed RB Leipzig 6-1 at home in the league.

Arsenal didn’t look at their best in the English Premier League last time out, but still managed to grind out a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

But the Gunners have looked very solid and consistent in European soccer competition over the last couple of years. In fact, the 2025-26 Premier League champions are the only team through two matchdays yet to concede.

In the last meeting between these two sides (November 2025 last season), Bayern Munich had just eight shots, 14 touches in the opposition box and an expected goals total of 0.65 – all three of which remain Bayern’s lowest in a UEFA Champions League match under Vincent Kompany.

The 3-1 defeat was the only time in Bayern Munich’s last 23 UEFA Champions League matches that the team was beaten by more than one goal. Michael Olise is suspended, which will be a huge miss for Bayen.

Since the start of last season, he has created more chances than any other player in the UEFA Champions League (44), made the joint most defensive line-breaking passes (43), and only Lamine Yamal (55) has completed more dribbles than the Frenchman (54).

Betting Markets to Watch

While Arsenal have won each of their last 14 UEFA Champions League group stage matches, Bayern have been made favourites.

Since 2023, only PSG (28) and Real Madrid (28) have won more games overall in the competition than the Gunners (27, level with Bayern Munich).

For this reason, we actually think there’s value in the ‘Bayern Munich And Draw’ bet in the Double Chance market. The Germans had a poor result in their last UCL game, while Arsenal are incredibly difficult to beat.

Still, Bayern possess key players who can make a difference, even if Olise is suspended. England star Harry Kane being just one of them.

Although Arsenal have kept two clean sheets so far, this looks likely to see the BTTS hitting. Kane is an option as an anytime goalscorer. He has scored 15 goals in 22 career appearances against Arsenal and has three in two games in this competition.

Our Prediction

Check the latest Bayern Munich vs Arsenal betting odds at Sportsbet.

Our prediction is for a Bayern win.

We think the ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ market has a good chance of being hit, particularly as the ‘Over 3.5 Goals’ has hit in each of Bayern Munich's last seven Champions League Match Day 3 matches.

Arsenal keep things tight, but if they are broken first, they’ll feel they have to go on the front foot, which could open the game up.
