Although Manchester City’s season has been one of disappointment, they have produced some excellent football in the FA Cup this term.

They trounced Salford City 8-0 in the third round, before defeating Leyton Orient (2-1), Plymouth Argyle (3-1) and Bournemouth (2-1). They won their challenging semi-final against Nottingham Forest 2-0.

As for Crystal Palace, ironically their hardest test came in the third round against League One outfit Stockport County, who they beat 1-0. Since then, winning margins have increased to two (Doncaster 2-0, Millwall 3-1) and three goals, with Premier League sides Fulham and Aston Villa both swept aside 3-0.

Current Form

In the Premier League, Manchester City have hit upon a rich vein of form. They’re unbeaten in eight games, winning four of their last five.

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, have bounced back from heavy defeats to Manchester City (2-5) and Newcastle United (0-5) to go four unbeaten, with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham last time out.

FA Cup Final Betting Odds

Manchester City have been installed as the favourites on Sunday, but at an unexpectedly generous price of $1.75.

Palace are the dangerous underdog at $4.20, with the draw available at $3.75.

This being a cup game, there’s a host of other outright odds to explore at Sportsbet. You can back either team to lift the trophy (i.e. win in normal time, extra time or penalties), or bet on a specific outcome, e.g. Man City to win in extra time.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester City Betting Tips

Oliver Glasner took over as Crystal Palace head coach in February 2024, and he has since taken on Pep Guardiola and Manchester City three times. Those games have ended in 5-2 and 4-2 victories for City, as well as a 2-2 draw.

So to suggest that there could be goals in Sunday’s clash would be something of an understatement.

Of course, Cup Finals can be cagey and conservative affairs. But it’s worth knowing that four of the last six FA Cup finals have witnessed three or more goals, so perhaps the best bet here is to double up Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score in a Same Game Multi at $1.70.

There’s certainly scope to back Man City to win inside 90 minutes at $1.75. They are, quite simply, a better team than Crystal Palace. They thrashed them 5-2 as recently as April 12, and have more big game experience under their belts.

City’s impressive form of late suggests that Pep has stumbled upon a winning formula at last in 2024/25 – although a pretty calamitous campaign by previous standards, there’s still time to salvage some silverware from the wreckage.
