Arteta Signs New Arsenal Contract Until 2030

Arsenal signed Mikel Arteta’s new contract on October 7, keeping him on as manager until June 2030. A deal rewarding the manager who finally delivered the club a league crown, after more than two decades of waiting.
The deal does more than guarantee continuity for the club and its supporters. According to unconfirmed reports, it lifts Arteta's salary to around £20 million a year, roughly A$38 million, though neither party has verified the exact figure.
That sum, if accurate, marks a steep rise from his previous arrangement, reported to be around £10 million a year, or roughly A$19 million, plus a further £5 million in bonuses.
However Arsenal has not publicly disclosed the contract terms so the precise numbers and any uplift, remain unofficial.
Arteta Commits to Arsenal
Arteta, who had entered the final year of his previous deal in 2026, is now committed to a club which will have almost a decade of total service from him, when the new contract runs its course.
At 44, he is already the longest-serving head coach in the English top flight.
The timing of this announcement also stands out, with Arteta signing this fresh Arsenal agreement not long after the club ended a 22-year wait for a league title winning the 2025/26 campaign in style.
Why Arsenal Rewarded Arteta Now
The 2025/2026 Premier league title win and the finals of the Champions league in the same season have prompted this investment in Artera and his management style.
Arteta arrived in December 2019 from Manchester City, where he had worked as Pep Guardiola's assistant, and his first trophy came swiftly with the 2020 FA Cup before the larger prizes inevitably followed.
"It's a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal," Arteta said, adding that this was "only the beginning of what we can achieve together".
Highlighting not only his love for the team and his players but also his confidence in what they can achieve under his leadership.
Co-chairs Stan and Josh Kroenke echoed that sentiment. "We share a special bond with Mikel," they said, adding that he has a deep understanding of Arsenal's values and is committed to building on everything the club has achieved together.
Mikel Arteta's Coaching Staff Also Extended
Arsenal did not stop at the manager alone and have confirmed that Arteta's coaching staff have also renewed their deals for a further four years, keeping the backroom team that won Arsenal their title, fully intact.
That decision reflects a confidence in Arterta and a deliberate strategy from the ownership to keep him and his team happy.
By locking in both the head coach and his lieutenants, the Kroenke group has signalled a clear preference for stability at a moment when many elite clubs chase quick fixes and frequently change their managers.
For Australian fans following the Premier League, the move places Arteta in the running to be a long-term operator such as Guardiola, coaches that are given time and resources to build something lasting, rather than being judged on a single bad month.
The real test now sits in front of him, as Arsenal look to defend their crown this season.
With Mikel Arteta's new contract securing both his own future and his staff throughout 2030, the club has made clear its ambitions stretch well past the 2026/27 campaign and on many more pieces of silverware.
With the Gunners chasing back-to-back titles, it is worth checking the Premier League outright betting odds to see how they shape up against the rest of the field.
