Liverpool are thought to have an ‘agreement in principle’ with Bradley Barcola and are preparing to send PSG their first official bid.

The Reds are highly keen on the France international winger, having held a long-term interest in him. He is thought to be the man that could potentially replace Mohamed Salah, after the Egyptian legend left the club on a free transfer in the summer.

According to some reports, Barcola won’t come cheap, though. The Parisians value him at ‘€170 million’ (approx AU$276.5 million), as they look to get maximum value out of the 23-year-old. But, that doesn’t appear to have put Liverpool off, with the club ready to send a bid.

Iraola Looking For A World-Class Winger

While Víctor Muñoz has already joined the club after the Reds hijacked what appeared to be a move to Newcastle from Osasuna, Barcola remains a target for Andoni Iraola as he prepares to lead Liverpool.

The Spanish manager arrived at the club this summer to replace Arne Slot, after the club decided to pull the trigger after a poor season in which they were miles off defending their Premier League title.

While they initially resisted the noise from fans, the pressure became too much as they fired the Dutchman shortly after the campaign finished.

Arriving after an impressive spell as Bournemouth boss, Iraola will be aiming to make his own mark on the team, and Barcola would be a statement signing, especially with the winger enjoying such a strong World Cup.

Will PSG Sell Barcola?

Up until very recently, it looked as though PSG could be prepared to cash in on Barcola if the price was right. Now, it might be a different story in the French capital.

Luis Enrique’s side had looked like the likely destination for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diamonde. However, in the last few days, they’ve seen a move for the Ivorian be hijacked by Real Madrid and are now thought to have pulled themselves out of the race for his signature.

Their decision to leave that potential deal could scupper any chance Liverpool has for Barcola, or it could force their hand to paying top dollar if they really want him to be the man to fill the huge void that Salah has left at Anfield.

What may go in their favour is that Barcola has refused to sign a new deal to remain with PSG, which could lead Nasser Al-Khelaifi (president) and Luis Campos (Football Advisor) to sell.

That said, his current deal is until 2031, so there’s no pressure if a deal isn’t right, even if Enrique decides he doesn’t want the winger there if he isn’t committed to the club.
