Group D at the World Cup continues to deliver intrigue as Vincenzo Montella's Türkiye take on Gustavo Alfaro's Paraguay in what shapes as a pivotal fixture for both nations' knockout hopes. 

The Crescent-Stars will arrive desperate to show their attacking quality after drawing a blank in their opener against Australia.

They certainly have the zest up top to trouble the scoreboard attendant, with the likes of Real Madrid wunderkind Arda Guler, Juventus livewire Kenan Yildiz and Porto's Deniz Gul.

Their attacking depth is simply on another level, with Guler, Yildiz, Kerem Akturkoglu and Calhanoglu all capable of unlocking a normally stubborn Paraguayan back four. 

Paraguay are traditionally well drilled defensively under Alfaro, but they have struggled to score consistently against possession-based sides, and Gustavo Gomez will have his hands full dealing with Türkiye's rotations. 

However, we have our doubts over Türkiye’s ability to break down the Paraguayans, and we expect the South Americans to mimic Australia’s low block that worked so effectively against Montella's men. This has low-scoring stalemate or full-on bore-draw written all over it.

With neither side being able to afford another defeat, we expect a very cagey affair here and the 1-1 draw at 6.00 stands out as the shortest-priced correct score on offer. 

Paraguay's compact defensive shape, marshalled by Omar Alderete and Junior Alonso, should keep things tight for long stretches, while Antonio Sanabria and Alex Arce carry enough threat to nick one on the counter. 

Türkiye will create chances through Guler and Yildiz, but Roberto Junior Fernandez has been in fine form between the sticks. A share of the spoils represents sensible value at the price.
