From there he would go on to play 300 games for the Power, scoring 93 goals, winning the club’s Best and Fairest award four times, and also winning the 2004 premiership.</p> <p>A tireless midfielder, Cornes consistently topped possession and disposal stats throughout his career, one which would come to an end in round 8 of 2015, in his 300th game.</p> <p>He then retired effective immediately to join the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service. Until the day he turned up to my school unannounced and told me the club had just sacked him and he wanted to tell me before I found out from the media. I’ve hated them ever since!&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3>Favourite goal you have scored?</h3> <p>I kicked a pretty straight forward on the run goal in the 2004 prelim final, but it was an important one.</p> <p>It was the team's first goal in the first quarter, but it came against the grain as the Saints were smashing us early and it allowed us to feel like we were back in the game.
