13/02/2026|SB Staff|Olympics Tips & Predictions

The Skeleton event is one of the most-watched events at the Winter Games, with the 2026 Milano Cortina edition being one that will be extremely popular with bettors at Sportsbet.

It’s a unique event that will see athletes sliding headfirst down an icy track at speeds up to 140 km/h on a sled at the Cortina Sliding Centre. Competitions to be held include men's singles, women's singles, and a mixed team event, running from February 12-15, with multiple heats advancing top performers.

Skeleton races occur over four days at the 1,730m Cortina track with 16 curves, with the following dates scheduled (all times local):

  • Thu, Feb 12 - Men's Skeleton heats 1 & 2
  • Fri, Feb 13 (4 p.m.) - Women's Skeleton heats 1 & 2
  • Fri, Feb 13 (7:30 p.m.) - Men's Skeleton heats 3 & 4
  • Sat, Feb 14 (6 p.m.) - Women’s Skeleton heats 3 & 4
  • Sun, Feb 15 (6 p.m.) - Mixed Team final

Milano - Cortina Olympic Skeleton Betting Preview

When betting on the skeleton event at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games, it’s worth considering which athletes are involved and how they can potentially offer betting value.

In the men’s competition, Great Britain's Matt Weston dominates as the three-time World Cup winner (2024-2026), 2023/2025 World Champion, and 2023/2026 European Champion. He also won the Cortina trial in 2025.

Teammate Marcus Wyatt is a 2024 European Champion and is a strong silver contender after recent wins. Germany's Christopher Grotheer (2022 Olympic gold) and Axel Jungk, plus Austria's Samuel Maier (2025 European Champion), should provide a challenge on the track.

In the women’s skeleton competition, Belgium's Kim Meylemans claimed her nation's first World Cup overall title and has back-to-back European golds (2024, 2026). Germany's Jacqueline Pfeifer leads recent form with a final World Cup win, while the Netherlands' Kimberley Bos (2022 Olympic bronze) and Austria's Janine Flock remain podium threats. US standout Mystique Ro has multiple recent podiums.

Milano - Cortina Olympic Skeleton Betting Predictions

We’ve provided our top Olympic Skeleton betting predictions below, highlighting our views behind each one:

Given Matt Weston’s domination in the men’s discipline, there may not be too much value in him. We think there could be more value in Marcus Wyatt to win silver as the gap is closer between him and the other competitors.

In the women’s event, we think Kim Meylemans offers strong value over favourite Jacqueline Pfeifer, given her season-long edge and European dominance.

The mixed team event likely favours GB's Tabitha Stoecker and Marcus Wyatt after their Cortina win, with Stoecker a two-time silver medalist at the two recent World Championships (alongside Weston).
