Women’s State of Origin Game 3 Predictions

Game 3 of the 2025 Women’s State or Origin is right around the corner and one state will be more excited about it than the other.

New South Wales have already secured the shield after seeing off Queensland in the first two games of this year’s series.

That means, what is usually a do-or-die decider is unfortunately a dead rubber, with only pride on the line.

Still, pride can be a hell of a motivator, particularly when you’re staring down the barrel of a humiliating whitewash.

Can the Maroons muster the courage required to prevent a clean sweep, in enemy territory no less?

Or will the Blues round out the series in style, condemning their interstate rivals to yet another defeat?

For all the latest team news, analysis and betting tips ahead of this showdown in Newcastle, check out our Women’s State of Origin Game 3 predictions below.

Women's State of Origin Game 3 Predictions and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Just when Queensland thought things couldn’t get any worse, injuries have struck. When the Maroons travel to McDonald Jones Stadium later this month and try to avoid becoming the first team in women’s Origin history to suffer a clean sweep, they will have to do so without the services of star fullback Tamika Upton.

The Maroons icon has been ruled out by a hip injury she suffered in Game 2 and will be replaced by Hayley Maddick at the back.

There are no such concerns for New South Wales who have named an unchanged side for Game 3.

Playing away from home, without their best player, against a side who already has the shield under lock and key. You can probably see why QLD are such heavy underdogs in the H2H market and why we won’t be backing them.

Betting tip: New South Wales.

First Try Scorer Prediction

We are anticipating one-way NSW traffic here, so we are going searching for our first try scorer in their ranks.

The likes of Jamie Chapman, Olivia Kernick, Jessica Sergis and Isabelle Kelly all present viable options in our opinion.

However, there is one player we fancy just a little bit more than that quartet. Blues’ winger Jayme Fressard has scored in both matches so far this series and while neither were the opening try, we’re backing her to change that in Game 3.

Betting tip: Jayme Fressard.

Player of the Match Prediction

Women’s State of Origin Game 3 will serve as more of a coronation than a contest, well for NSW anyway.

Coronations are usually reserved for kings and queens, but in this instance, we think this one will belong to a captain, with Blues’ skipper Jessica Sergis taking home the Player of the Match award.

Betting tip: Jessica Sergis.
