“In a season full of ups and downs, the Brisbane Broncos are one of the few teams who seem to have found consistency. Now that we’ve said that, watch them go and lose to the 16th placed Roosters at home. That’s the type of season this has been.”

That’s a direct quote from last week’s Broncos’ match preview. Well, what do you know, they did indeed go and lose to the 16th placed Roosters.

Welcome to season 2025, where anyone can beat anyone. Next up for Brisbane is a trip across the ditch to face the Warriors, who are also coming off a demoralising loss.

The Warriors will also have to try and bounce back without star recruit James Fisher-Harris who picked up a pec injury last week. He joins fellow main men Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak on the sidelines, in worrying scenes for the Warriors.

Still, the Wahs never seem to go quietly when playing in front of their own and they arguably possess home ground advantage like no other side in the NRL, such is the commute rival teams face when travelling to play them.

With some many different dynamics at play here, which side will bounce back from last week’s loss?

Here’s how these two teams will line up, along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Warriors vs Broncos prediction.

Warriors vs Broncos Teams

New Zealand Warriors

1. Taine Tuaupiki

2. Edward Kosi

3.
Warriors vs Broncos Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

After having their losing streak against the Storm extended to 17 straight games, the Warriors return to New Zealand in NRL round 7 with their tails between their legs and the Brisbane Broncos in tow.

The Broncos won’t be feeling too crash hot either after being scalped by massive underdogs, the Roosters on their own patch last week.

These recent results make this a bit of a sticky situation tipping wise. The Warriors always turn up at home and the Broncos suddenly look rather vulnerable.

But do we really want to back a team that conceded 42 points last week to beat a side considered among the premiership favourites? In this crazy, crazy season, you absolutely bet we do.

Betting tip: New Zealand Warriors.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Young Luke Metcalf has been one of the Warriors’ stand out contributors so far this season and the former Shark has shown he has an eye for the tryline from time to time.

We’re going to seek a little bit of value in this market and steer clear of an outside back for once. We’re backing Metcalf and the Warriors to get off to a fast start in this one.

Betting tip: Luke Metcalf.

Over/Under Prediction

For as long as we can remember we have never associated the Warriors with resolute defence.

They seem to prefer the old fight fire with fire method and always aim to outscore their opponent.

Naturally this always makes us lean towards backing the over when it comes to total match points.

This is something we’re even more inclined to do here after finding out that each of New Zealand's last five matches as an underdog have gone over the total match points line.

Betting tip: Over total match points.

Warriors vs Broncos Match Details

Date: Saturday, April 19, 2025.

Kick-off: 5:30pm AEST.

Location: Go Media Stadium, New Zealand.
