Gold Coast Titans vs Newcastle Knights Prediction
20/03/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The Knights have quietly worked their way to a two from two start in 2025. Without relying on pure razzle dazzle, they’ve grinded out two low-scoring wins, while also putting together some solid moves in attack.

It’s certainly a new-look operation at Newcastle this season, the same can’t be said for the Titans though.

In true Gold Coast fashion their first and so far, only game (thanks to the bye) was a chaotic affair. They conceded inside the first minute, were down 22-0 in a flash, launched a mini comeback to get within two converted tries by the break and then ultimately ended up losing 40-24.

There is no questioning the wealth of attacking talent at their disposal, but they could do with taking a leaf out of Newcastle’s book and start locking it down on their own line.

Whether they do that or not this Saturday remains to be seen, however. Let’s take a look at how these two teams will line up this weekend along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Titans vs Knights prediction.

Titans vs Knights Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

While we are not sure what will happen to the Titans this year, we do know one thing – it’s not going to be boring.

After conceding four tries in the first 20 minutes against the Bulldogs, they finished the match with four of their own, ending up on the wrong end of a 40-24 scoreline.

It appears defence is optional this year on the Gold Coast, and we are interested to see how this approach fares against a Knights’ side who have grinded their way to a perfect start in 2025.

While we’re taking Newcastle here on this season’s form alone, it is important to note that the Gold Coast has won each of its last seven matches against Newcastle at Cbus Super Stadium. So there is value to be had backing the Titans.

Betting tip: Newcastle Knights.

First Try Scorer Prediction

While we are backing the Knights to be the ones to win this match, we’re tipping a Titan in the first try scorer market.

Before the grind sets in, we fancy the Gold Coast to come galloping out the gates, with one of their many dynamic flyers finding the tryline first.

After his first half double last week against the Dogs, Alofiana Khan-Pereira has presented himself as a prime candidate here.

Betting tip: Alofiana Khan-Pereira.

Over/Under Prediction

It will be interesting to see Newcastle’s conservative style up against the Titans all out attack MO and how that dynamic plays out. Particularly as it will be very relevant to the outcome of the over/under market.

The current over/under line for this match is set at 51.5 points and while the Titans will do their best to keep the scoreboard attendant busy, each of Newcastle's last five matches have gone under the total match points line. So that’s the way we’ll be siding here.

Betting tip: Over total match points.
