With both sides playing meaningful footy late in the season, this promises to be a tight, high-stakes battle.

Four-time premiership winner Jarome Luai is also playing his 150th career game, a huge milestone for the playmaker, so the Tigers have got another reason to want to win this game.

Here’s how the Tigers and Cowboys line up for this clash, as well as some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer, and over/under markets. This is our Tigers vs Cowboys prediction.

Tigers vs Cowboys Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Despite season struggles this year, the Cowboys have been able to compete against teams on a similar level.

While there is expectation for this game to have a lot of back and forth, the Tigers recent form is too good to go past.

The Tigers have won three out of their last five games, including the upset against the Bulldogs and putting on a masterclass against the Cowboys after being down 12-0 to start the game.

The favourite has won each of North Queensland’s last 12 matches, and the Tigers are favourites in what is a must win for both sides for their top eight aspirations.

Betting tip: Wests Tigers

First Try Scorer Prediction

The Cowboys when they play at their best love to establish field position early.

While the Tigers showed against the Sea Eagles they can defend at a high level, their edge defence can be exposed, especially around their left side second row structure.

Jeremiah Nanai’s dynamic ability and physicality, especially in close range of the try line makes him a threat with and without the ball.

Betting tip: Jeremiah Nanai

Over/Under Prediction

The Cowboys in the last month have been involved in high scoring contests, which has shown both signs of a good attacking attack and their awful defence depending on game to game basis.

In the games the Cowboys have been involved in have gone over the total match points line in four out of their last five.

For the Tigers, they have shown they can put on points while improving their defence, scoring 20 points or more in three out of their last five games.

This matchup has historically been high scoring, with each of the last seven matches between these two sides going over the total match points line.

Betting tip: Over total match points
