Melbourne Storm vs Brisbane Broncos Prediction – Round 3 2026
19/03/2026|SB Staff|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips
The Brisbane Broncos are staring down a 0-3 start to their premiership defence as they face the Melbourne Storm in a Grand Final rematch at AAMI Park on Friday night.
The Broncos were upset 40-32 by the Eels last Thursday and are still searching for consistency defensively, while the Storm demolished the Dragons 46-20 last week and have racked up big scores across their opening two wins.
Making matters worse for the Broncos, they head to AAMI Park – a venue where they have lost nine matches in a row and 13 from 16 overall.
Craig Bellamy has strengthened his squad with Trent Loiero back from suspension on the interchange, while Alec MacDonald is named in the extended squad as he eyes a return from concussion.
Grant Anderson will debut against his former club on Brisbane’s wing, shifting Deine Mariner to the centres and Gehamat Shibasaki to the interchange, with Jack Gosiewski (concussion) out and Xavier Willison to start.

Storm vs Broncos Prediction and Betting Tips
Head-to-Head Prediction
The second part of Friday night’s double delight is as big as they come, with the Storm hosting the Broncos in a replay of last year’s Grand Final.
It was the Broncos who of course triumphed on that occasion and oh how they’ll be desperate to run it back here.
Alarm bells are officially already ringing at Red Hill, with Brisbane 0-2 to start the season.
Despite being the reigning champions, and playing their last two games at home, Michael Maguire’s men became the first set of champions in five years to start a season with two losses.
Now, it’s odds on to become three. Melbourne have been the antithesis of Brisbane, winning their opening two games with aplomb.
In fact, they came just two points shy of clocking up a combined total of 100 across their opening pair of games in their win over the Dragons. Though something tells us they’re going to breach that 100-point mark here and then some.
Betting tip: Melbourne Storm.
