Manly Sea Eagles vs Parramatta Eels Prediction - Round 8 2026

24/04/2026|SB Staff|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

Two arch-rivals whose players starred in the iconic Tooheys TV commercial back in 1984 are back at it again in a Sunday afternoon blockbuster at 4 Pines Park.

Manly Sea Eagles host the Parramatta Eels in what is set to renew one of rugby league’s great rivalries to conclude ANZAC Round.

After starting winless in their first three games, Manly have won every game since and are currently on a three-game winning streak, defeating the Cowboys in a 38-6 dominant performance in Round 7.

The Eels shocked the rugby league world with an upset over the Bulldogs with a dominant 38-20 win at a sold-out Commbank Stadium.

Manly Sea Eagles vs Parramatta Eels Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Manly won in elite fashion against the Cowboys, but in the process lost their star Tom Trbojevic for 6-8 weeks with the eighth hamstring injury of his career.

Their best player this season Tolutau Koula steps into the fullback position and Clayton Faulolo takes the right centre spot.

The Eels roster remains almost unchanged, with Sean Russell returning after being medically cleared from concussion protocols.

Across Manly’s last three games, they’re averaging almost 40 points per game while conceding just 14, and the Eels have conceded an average of over 30 points per game, but showed improvement only conceding 20 against the Bulldogs.

Despite Manly’s form, the Eels were able to find confidence and defensive form in front of the 1986 winning premiership side at home, and could upset Manly’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of defeating the Blue and Gold in the 1976 Grand Final.

Betting tip: Paramatta Eels.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Jack Williams has scored a try in each of his last two appearances against Manly.

Parramatta haven’t been afraid to try attack through their opponents’ middle third of the defensive line, and Jack Williams could find himself a short ball from one of the halves and find a gap to run through to the tryline.

Betting tip: Jack Williams.

Over/Under Prediction

Seven of Parramatta's last nine matches have gone over the total match points line.

Betting tip: Over (53.5) total match points.

Line Prediction

The away team has covered the line in each of Manly's last eight matches

Betting tip: Eels (+7.5) line.
