We return to normal capacity for NRL Round 14, with one team having a bye instead of three.

State of Origin was a masterclass by the Blues, defeating the Queensland Maroons 18-6 in Game One.

With a loss to the Dragons, the Knights snap back to reality, the Titans? Ope, there goes gravity with 15 errors, the Cowboys almost choked, Manly didn't give up, and Nathan Cleary showed Penrith can seize the moment – or did the Eels just let it slip?

As you can see, the rugby league scriptwriters created memorable moments for round 13.

Let’s not lose ourselves here and take a chance at exploring Round 14 in the NRL.

Newcastle Knights vs Manly Sea Eagles Prediction

Thursday, June 5, 7:50pm AEST – McDonald Jones Stadium

NRL Round 14 finds its body clock again with a Thursday kickoff, where the Knights return to Newcastle hoping there’s no place like home against the Sea Eagles.

The Knights still boast firepower, but their last outing should spark some soul-searching.

Daly Cherry-Evans backed up from Origin against Brisbane and showed that father time isn’t catching him yet – with the ball on a string, he dictated play like a maestro.

Manly are looking to build momentum, while Newcastle’s season may be hanging by a threat. We’re backing the Sea Eagles to come away with the points in hostile territory.

Head-to-head prediction: Manly Sea Eagles

Betting tip: Manly Sea Eagles by 10+ points.

Melbourne Storm vs North Queensland Cowboys Prediction

Friday, June 6, 6pm AEST – AAMI Park

Sooo…walking is great exercise right? Craig Bellamy seems to think so. He wore his walking shoes!

Even with a win against the Titans, Melbourne have some question marks about their play at the moment.

The Cowboys nearly offered a masterclass in how to blow a lead – almost.

Despite North Queensland getting a needed win, Melbourne have won every game at AAMI Park this season, and it would be shocking if the Cowboys were able to lasso a win in what feels like impossible circumstances.

Head-to-head prediction: Melbourne Storm

Betting tip: Under total match points.

Dolphins vs St George Illawarra Dragons

Friday, June 6, 8pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

The battle of red is the headline Friday night game as the Dolphins face the Dragons at Suncorp.

Before the bye, the Dolphins had a huge upset over the Bulldogs who reign at the top of the standings.

The Dragons have gone on a little run lately with wins against the Broncos and the Knights, plus the bye, having a quick six point turnaround that has them just inside the eight.

Shane Flanagan’s side is in hot form, and against the Dolphins who can have a drop off in performance after some success, we expect the Dragons to continue having their way and perform on the road.

Head-to-head prediction: St George Illawarra Dragons

Betting tip: Dragons by 1 to 12 points.

Cronulla Sutherland Sharks vs New Zealand Warriors

Saturday, June 7, 5:30pm AEST – Sharks Stadium

The Sharks were found after being declared missing for a week after losing against a Roosters side without five Origin players.

On the other side, the Warriors went through a hard earned win against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, as Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad had the kind of performance that leaves you in awe, running 28 times for almost 350 metres, 100 post contact metres, breaking through eight tackles, one linebreak, one offload and scored a try.

A top 8 matchup begins Saturday night where the Warriors have caused some upsets at Sharks Stadium in recent seasons.

We expect this game to be competitive and while the Sharks are looking to get back in the winner’s column, the Warriors have only lost to the Raiders in the last month.

Considering where both teams are at currently, and the fact the Warriors have only lost one game on the road this year, it’s hard to tip against the Warriors with the way they have been playing this season.

Head-to-head prediction: New Zealand Warriors

Betting tip: Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad anytime tryscorer.

Brisbane Broncos vs Gold Coast Titans

Saturday, June 7, 7:35pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

Well, well, well…the smell of desperation for a win is getting way too noticeable in Queensland. First Origin, and now the Broncos and the Titans.

A Queensland showdown concludes Saturday night, with both teams with aspirations for the finals to be down so low that playing limbo looks way easier.

If there’s a chance for the Broncos to get a win, this match is the one to get some confidence and direction.

Recent matchups between these two teams lean towards the Titans, as they won the two meetings last year.

What could make this year different is that the Titans are playing at an all time bad and Brisbane get to go home in front of their fans and give them reassurance the battle for a spot in the finals isn’t over.

We’re switching the tide and backing the Broncos to get the win.

Head-to-head prediction: Brisbane Broncos

Betting tip: Under total match points.

Canberra Raiders vs South Sydney Rabbitohs Prediction

Sunday, June 8, 2pm AEST – GIO Stadium

Canberra is finding a way to win every single week at the moment.

Without their star halfback, they were able to just slide past the Roosters and stay 2nd place on the ladder.

There’s positive signs for the Rabbitohs despite the loss to the Warriors, with a great second half performance by Latrell, and Alex Johnston cracking 200 tries in the NRL, being 12 tries away from tying the famous record held by Ken Irvine.

Mitch Barnett’s injury leaves a spot in the State of Origin forward pack wide open for and Keaon Koloamatangi’s name has rapidly come up in conversation, having another strong performance playing in the front row for the Bunnies.

Not only are the Raiders on a great run in the season, but also when they play the Rabbitohs, winning four of the last five clashes and winning two of the last three times they played the red and green in Canberra.

Head-to-head prediction: Canberra Raiders

Betting tip: Alex Johnston anytime scorer

Wests Tigers vs Penrith Panthers Prediction

Sunday, June 8, 4:05pm AEST – Commbank Stadium

When there’s a Nathan Cleary, anything is possible with the Panthers.

The Battle of the West was one of the best games all year and the Panthers somehow turned the momentum their way and came from behind to get an eight point win over the Eels.

The Tigers almost pulled a miraculous comeback against the Cowboys, but just missed out on the shared experience.

Sunday afternoon finishes in the land of Parramatta where Penrith reign supreme, and against the Tigers, they have won three of the last five meetings, including the last time they played each other at Commbank Stadium.

Out of the last three wins against the Tigers, only one was less than a 10 point victory, and we’re expecting Penrith to win big time.

Head-to-head prediction: Penrith Panthers

Betting tip: Panthers by 10+ points.

Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs vs Parramatta Eels Prediction

Monday, June 9, 4:05pm AEST – Accor Stadium

It’s the King’s birthday! The round concludes on a public holiday with an all time rivalry squaring up at Accor Stadium.

The Bulldogs' last match doesn’t tell the story of the Bulldogs, as they had a lot of players available against the Dolphins.

Parramatta delivered a great game against the Panthers, but failed to close and every game means more than ever before with the parity in the NRL.

New signing Lachlan Galvin is expected to make his club debut for the Dogs, which is going to create more of a heated matchup, as he turned down the Eels offer to join the number one team in the league currently.

The last five meetings between the two sides do not reflect the recent shift in dynamic. Parramatta have won the majority of the matchups dating back to 2022, however, they have lost the last two matchups, including the round three loss earlier this season.

Stephen Crichton has also experienced strong form against the Eels since joining the Dogs. In the three matchups he’s played in, he has scored two tries on this public holiday game, scored three tries total in the last three games against the Blue and Gold, and having at least four points scored in each of the three games against Parramatta since leaving Penrith.

With their new recruit and strong form this season only losing two matches, one of those being a fully healthy side, we expect the Bulldogs to continue taking the momentum that comes with winning on this occasion.

Head-to-head prediction: Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs

Betting tip: Stephen Crichton anytime tryscorer.
