NRL Tips and Predictions – Round 11 2026

12/05/2026|SB Staff|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

It’s the most magical time of the year! If you’re a footy fan that is. Sixteen teams, eight games, one venue, that’s right Magic Round is back.

As has now become an annual tradition, the entirety of NRL Round 11 will be played solely at Suncorp Stadium.

There’s some magical matchups on the cards too, with the attacking outfits The Dolphins and South Sydney facing off, the red-hot Roosters battling the Cowboys and hometown heroes Brisbane entertaining the high-flying Wahs.

Wands, hats and rabbits at the ready! It’s time for some magic. For all the latest news, analysis, odds, and betting tips ahead of Magic Round 2026, check out our expert NRL Round 11 tips and predictions below.

Cronulla Sharks vs Canterbury Bulldogs Prediction

Friday, May 15, 6:00pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

The Cronulla Sharks and the Canterbury Bulldogs have the honour of opening Magic Round, when they light the touch paper for NRL Round 11 on Friday night.

Despite their high-profile recruits and early promise under the tutelage of rookie coach Cameron Ciraldo, the desperate Dogs are down in the doldrums.

They were towelled up at this very venue last week by the Dolphins in a 44-12 massacre that now sees them sitting in 13th.

Meanwhile the Sharks did their thing, by following up a stunning win with a loss, to ensure they remain the most hot and cold side in the competition.

One week, top four contenders, the next mid table cannon fodder, which incarnation of Cronulla will we be seeing at Magic Round?

It’s hard to say, but it’s not hard to say which version of the Bulldogs will show up, the only version there is, a version that seems incapable of putting together a full 80 minutes and consistently winning football games.

Head-to-head prediction: Cronulla Sharks.

Betting tip: Big win little win – Sharks 13+

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Dolphins Prediction

Friday, May 15, 8:05pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

We’re expecting plenty of points in what should be a magical Round 11 encounter when two of the competition’s top attacking teams duke it out on Friday night.

The Dolphins and the Rabbitohs scored 80 points between them last week, as they both ran out big winners in their respective matches.

As the Dolphins dined out on the Dogs, Jamayne Isaako managed to cross for a hat-trick, while the game’s greatest try scorer Alex Johnston did likewise, in his side’s win over the Sharks.

This sets up a tantalising shootout between not just these two sides, but these two fantastic finishers as well.

We like the look of both Johnston and Isaako to find the line at some point here, but we’ll be taking the Bunnies in the H2H betting, as their win last week was without Latrell Mitchell, who is slated to return this week.

Head-to-head prediction: South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Betting tip: SGM – Over total match points & Jamayne Isaako and Alex Johnston to score 2+ tries.

Wests Tigers vs Manly Sea Eagles Prediction

Saturday, May 16, 3:00pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

After such a hot start, two big back-to-back beat downs have Benji’s boys heading back to the drawing board.

They also became the first side to lose to the Melbourne Storm in eight matches and are now in very real danger of losing three on the trot for the first time this season.

That danger will take the shape of the Manly Sea Eagles, who have been totally transformed under the guidance of rookie coach Kieran Foran.

Since taking over the Sea Eagles, Foran has only seen his side lose once and that was a narrow two-point defeat to runaway competition favourites Penrith.

They’ve also been winning without arguably their two biggest names, Tom Trbojevic and Jamal Fogarty.

With Fogarty slated to return this week, surely they will continue to keep trending up, which means the Tigers will have to continue trending down.

Head-to-head prediction: Manly Sea Eagles.

Betting tip: Lehi Hopoate first try scorer.

Sydney Roosters vs North Queensland Cowboys Prediction

Saturday, May 16, 5:30pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

Just two-points off top, the red-hot Roosters will look to continue their pursuit of the Penrith Panthers when they do battle with the Cowboys at Magic Round.

They appear to have found the one thing every team craves and that is consistency. The Chooks have won their last six on the spin, with their skipper James Tedesco doing everything to let Laurie Daley know he is ready and able to once again don the NSW No.1 jersey.

Speaking of consistency, the Cowboys showed just how hard it is to find in the modern game, blowing their chance of recording a three-game winning streak, going down at home to the struggling Eels.

If the Cowboys were unable to beat a bottom four side in their own backyard in Jason Taumalolo’s milestone match (he became the most capped Cowboy of all time last start), we don’t see how they are going to upset the high-flying Roosters here.

Head-to-head prediction: Sydney Roosters.

Betting tip: James Tedesco anytime try scorer.

Parramatta Eels vs Melbourne Storm Prediction

Saturday, May 16, 7:45pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

Regardless of Melbourne’s recent form Parramatta must have been sick when they saw who they had drawn for Magic Round.

They played Melbourne in Magic Round twice before, conceding a total of 112 points across those two meetings, while only scoring 26. Yikes.

Yes, Melbourne are actually sitting below Parra on the ladder in 15th, but they did finally end their losing streak last week, largely thanks to megastar Munster who appears to be heating up just in time for Origin.

All in all, this should be a lot closer than the last two Magic Round matches between these two, but that H2H record is simply too one-sided to ignore, we’re siding with the Storm here.

Head-to-head prediction: Melbourne Storm.

Betting tip: Cameron Munster anytime try scorer.

Gold Coast Titans vs Newcastle Knights Prediction

Sunday, May 17, 2:00pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

Sunday’s Suncorp salutations take shape in the form of this Titans vs Knights showdown.

Another season has quickly gotten away from the Titans, with the Gold Coast franchise sitting 16th after 10 rounds.

As the Titans fell to their third straight loss last week, the Knights became the latest team to feast on the Dragons misfortunes.

It was winger Greg Marzhew who had the biggest appetite of all the Novocastrians, dining out on five meat pies against the dreadful Dragons.

This five-try haul, which included opening and closing the scoring, comes a week after he ran in a hat-trick against South Sydney, meaning he has eight tries in his last two games.

It’s always a long shot backing a player to score three or more, but in this kind of try scoring touch and against a side sitting 16th, this might just be the week to do it.

Head-to-head prediction: Newcastle Knights

Betting tip: Greg Marzhew to score three or more tries.

New Zealand Warriors vs Brisbane Broncos Prediction

Sunday, May 17, 4:00pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

What a Sunday special this is shaping up to be. Hometown heroes the Broncos will once again be the beneficiaries of Magic Round taking place in Brisbane, as they are technically the away team on paper here.

While New Zealand may feel a little hard done by the NRL’s scheduling team, they will be confident enough in themselves to get the job done in front of a largely Brisbane-based crowd.

That being said, we can’t help but back the Broncos here. Yes, we said we were done writing the Warriors off, but with Adam Reynolds and Ben Hunt set to return and the added luxury of home ground advantage in their back pocket, there’s plenty of value to be had siding with the defending Premiers.

Head-to-head prediction: Brisbane Broncos.

Betting tip: Antonio Verhoeven first try scorer.

Penrith Panthers vs St George Illawarra Dragons Prediction

Sunday, May 17, 6:25pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

NRL Round 11 and 2026’s edition of Magic Round concludes with the best of the best up against the worst of the worst.

It’s first vs last, as the seemingly unstoppable Penrith Panthers take on a St George side who are officially off to the worst start in the NRL era.

The Dragons this year have conceded 309 points in nine games, including 106 in their last two, and hold a for and against of negative 185. Oh yeah and if you haven’t already guessed, they’ve lost all nine of those games as well.

Penrith on the other hand sit first, with just one loss to their name. They are a team brimming with confidence and Origin stars and a Dally M Medallist in wait in Nathan Cleary.

This really could be anything, so don’t rule out something crazy like a 60–70-point win for Penrith.

Head-to-head prediction: Penrith Panthers.

Betting tip: Big win little win – Penrith 13+

Canberra Raiders – BYE

Until the NRL’s 18th team joins the fold, someone will have to miss out on the Magic Round festivities every year.

This season it’s the Raiders who have drawn the short straw and they’ll have to watch from home as the rest of the competition descends on Suncorp Stadium.
