Canberra Raiders vs Manly Sea Eagles Prediction – Round 23 2025
06/08/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & TipsThe Canberra Raiders will aim to get back on the winners list when they host the Manly Sea Eagles at GIO Stadium on Friday night.
The Raiders had their winning streak snapped just shy of a perfect 10, going down 18-12 to the Dragons last week. This means the Storm draw ever closer as they tussle for top spot.
Manly is one of the four teams to have defeated Canberra this season, dealing a 40-12 beatdown way back in Round 3. More recently, back-to-back defeats scoring just one unconverted try in each have seen Manly concerningly fall out of the top eight.
Tom Trbojevic is back to fullback for the Sea Eagles after the injury to Lehi Hopoate, with Tommy Talau promoted into the centres and Aaron Schoupp joining the interchange.
Veteran Michael Chee-Kam will line up in Manly colours for the first time since 2015, replacing the concussed Ben Trbojevic. Canberra are unchanged 1 to 17.

Raiders vs Sea Eagles Prediction and Betting Tips
Head-to-Head Prediction
All good things must come to an end as they say. That was certainly the case for the Canberra Raiders last start, who couldn’t make it 10 in a row, as their remarkable winning run was ended by the Dragons of all people.
This allowed Melbourne to close the gap at the top with their win over Parra, meaning the race for the minor premiership is well and truly on as we head into round 23.
Back at home this week and facing a Manly side who were particularly ineffective in attack in their loss to the Roosters, we fancy the Green Machine to return to winning ways and protect their lead at the top of the pops.
Betting tip: Canberra Raiders.
First Tryscorer Prediction
When in doubt, back a man in form. Canberra centre Matt Timoko is on a mini try scoring rampage at the moment.
He has scored two tries in each of the Green Machine’s last two matches and we think he is well poised to potentially strike first on the scoreboard here.
Betting tip: Matt Timoko.
Line Prediction
Manly has covered the line in seven of its last eight matches as an underdog against Canberra.
Betting tip: Manly Sea Eagles (+6.5).
