South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Canterbury Bulldogs Prediction – Round 5 2026

02/04/2026|SB Staff|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The South Sydney Rabbitohs will face the Canterbury Bulldogs at Accor Stadium on Good Friday, with both sides looking to build upon promising 2-1 starts after early byes.

South Sydney heads into this clash refreshed after defeating Wests 20-16 before the break and can strengthen its place inside the top eight with another win.

Meanwhile, Canterbury will be eager to respond after a disappointing 24-16 loss to an undermanned Newcastle side at this venue last week.

South Sydney has controlled recent Good Friday battles, winning six of the past seven, although Canterbury did dominate last year’s edition 32-0 and has claimed three of the last four clashes between these teams overall.

For the Bulldogs, Sam Hughes returns from suspension and Harry Hayes is back from concussion, while Josh Curran is sidelined with a rib injury. Campbell Graham returns on the wing for South Sydney, with Lachlan Hubner added to the bench.

Rabbitohs vs Bulldogs Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Round 5 will play host to the NRL’s annual Good Friday blockbuster between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Thanks to the public holiday, a crowd in excess of 50,000 usually turns out for this one and this year should be no different.

The Bunnies bounced into their bye last week off a win and will be feeling both fully rested and brimming with confidence going into this one.

The same can’t be said for the Bulldogs who tasted their first loss of the season last week, with an uninspired performance against an understrength Newcastle side.

Critics and supporters are starting to turn on embattled half Lachlan Glavin as he has turned from saviour to scapegoat in less than half a season.

Still, one loss in three is no cause for alarm bells just yet, however we’ll be taking the recharged Rabbitohs here, because who doesn’t love a bunny on Easter?

Betting tip: South Sydney Rabbitohs.
