South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Brisbane Broncos Prediction – Round 10 2025
07/05/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips
Wayne Bennett will welcome the most famous of his former employers to Stadium Australia on Friday night when his South Sydney side take on the Brisbane Broncos.

All the news heading into this game surrounds two polarising superstars. Latrell Mitchell is back for the Bunnies after single game suspension, while Broncos five-eighth Ezra Mam was earmarked to be making his long-awaited return from a lengthy suspension due to an off-field indiscretion.

Once, one of the hottest prospects in the NRL, one minute Mam was crossing for a Grand Final hat-trick and signing a million-dollar deal, the next he was on the brink of being booted out of the NRL entirely.

The Broncos will be hoping this is the beginning of one of the greatest redemption arcs the game has ever seen, because if Ezra can return to the best version of himself there’s no reason why they can’t win it all in 2025.

However, it looks like we’ll have to wait a little while longer for this redemption story, as Michael Maguire has elected not to select Ezra, despite him finally being eligible to take to the field.

Can Latrell help the stalling Bunnies click back into gear? When will Ezra make his return? And can Bennett get one over his old boys?

Let’s see how these two sides will line up along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Rabbitohs vs Broncos prediction.

Rabbitohs vs Broncos Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Can the super-coach save his floundering team? The Bunnies are in free-fall having dropped four of their past five matches and require a miracle or two to save their season.

Luckily for them, they host the equally wobbly Broncos, who dropped a game to the previously rudderless Panthers at home in Magic Round.

After their poor showing against Penrith there is now a decision to make for Michael Maguire. Does he go youth or experience?

The experienced all-star pairing of Hunt and Reynolds must be studied. Despite their hundreds of games experience, they cannot force this team to consistently dominate week in, week out, expect the addition of Ezra Mam back into the training squad to light a fire under Hunt.

On the other side of the paddock, Bunnies import Lewis Dodd finally got on the park for a run, but the combination of Dodd and Sullivan in the halves is not the answer.

It’s no surprise this combo has been blown up again with the return of Humphreys, while Sullivan is also on borrowed time with Cody Walker due to return soon.

Who will respond to the embarrassing loss the best? It might be another long night for the master coach and his South Sydney side.

Betting tip: Brisbane Broncos.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Still easing into his interim role of fullback while Reece Walsh is out injured, we’re backing Selwyn Cobbo to spring to life this week.

If the conditions are right at Stadium Australia on Friday night, big striding Cobbo and get the chance to run hard and early at a Rabbitohs defence lacking a lot of confidence after suffering four straight losses.

Betting tip: Selwyn Cobbo.

Over/Under Prediction

Normally this year when Souths have been involved, we’ve fancied under the total match points line more than the over.

This time however, we’re going the opposite. Both of these teams showed last week their ability to concede plenty of points and with the return of the always attacking Latrell Mitchell this could descend into a good old-fashioned free-for-all.

Betting tip: Over total match points.
