Penrith Panthers vs Melbourne Storm Prediction – Round 24 2025

13/08/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

In what promises to be one of the battles of the season, last year’s grand finalists will go toe-to-toe once again with the Penrith Panthers hosting the Melbourne Storm on Thursday night.

It marks their second meeting of 2025, with the Storm claiming a narrow 30-24 victory at home back in the first month of the season, though there is plenty more riding on this clash.

Melbourne maintained second spot after a clinical performance against the Broncos at home last Thursday, while the Panthers demolished the Knights to move into the top four.

They will head into this matchup unchanged off the back of that 48-12 victory – their ninth on the trot.

The Storm have lost Ryan Papenhuyzen to concussion meaning Nick Meaney will take over at fullback and Marion Seve comes into the centres.

Panthers vs Storm Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Start as you mean to go on. The first match of NRL round 24 is unequivocally the best.

Fresh off win number 10 in a row, the Penrith Panthers welcome the Melbourne Storm to CommBank Stadium in a season defining clash.

After the Warriors lost last week, the Panthers now find themselves in the top four, meaning if that’s where they remain, they will get the all-important second chance come finals.

A win here, in what will be a Grand Final rematch from last season, and we might just have to admit that the Panthers are the new premiership favourites.

Considering they were dead last earlier this season, it would be a truly remarkable feat, one we think might just come to fruition.

At home, with a tidal wave of momentum behind them and against a Storm side sans arguably their best player (Jahrome Hughes), we’re picking Penrith, not just for this game, but for the whole shebang.

Betting tip: Penrith Panthers.

First Tryscorer Prediction

Melbourne winger Grant Anderson will enter this clash on a unique hat-trick. He has been the first try-scorer in each of his two previous appearances against Penrith and we’re backing him to complete his hatty here.

Betting tip: Grant Anderson.

Over/Under Prediction

Each of Penrith's last eight home matches have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under total match points (42.5).

Line Prediction

Penrith has covered the line in each of their last seven matches against opponents that were ranked in the top eight.

Betting tip: Penrith Panthers (-1.5).
