Penrith Panthers vs Manly Sea Eagles Prediction – Round 8 2025
24/04/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & TipsAre four-time reigning premiers Penrith back on track? Perhaps. While they did win in fine style over Easter, there’s still plenty of work left to be done.
They’ll look to begin that work and gain further momentum when they host the struggling Manly Sea Eagles at CommBank Stadium on Saturday night.
Speaking of work to be done, Manly are in desperate need of a confidence boost after three consecutive losses, all of which have come in the absence of superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic.
In a major boost for the Sea Eagles, Trbojevic has been named to return from injury early, although his brother Jake has been ruled out.
Turbo and his Sea Eagles will be looking to defeat the Panthers away from Brookvale for the first time since 2018, will his inclusion be enough to end this seven season drought? Let’s find out.
Here are the full line ups for these two teams, as well as some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Panthers vs Sea Eagles prediction.

Panthers vs Sea Eagles Prediction and Betting Tips
Head-to-Head Prediction
Are we about to witness the return of the real Penrith Panthers? Based on last week’s performance it would appear so.
The reigning quadruple champions managed to stop the rot of five straight losses with a dominant win over the Roosters.
It’s no surprise their return to the winner’s list coincided with the return of gun No.1 Dylan Edwards.
This week they face a Sea Eagles side in free fall mode. Last week’s loss to St George was their third in a row and we can see it becoming four in NRL round 8, particularly when you take into account that Penrith have won nine of its last 10 matches against Manly.
Betting tip: Penrith Panthers.
First Try Scorer Prediction
While all the talk will be about one fullback, the returning Tom Trbojevic, we’re looking at his opposite number for this market.
Penrith and NSW No.1 Dylan Edwards recently returned from injury and the Panthers are a different team when he’s in their ranks.
Known more for his hard running and positional play than his try scoring prowess, we’re going to seek a little bit of value and back him to be the first try scorer in this one.
Betting tip: Dylan Edwards.
Over/Under Prediction
The form line shows that each of Manly's last eight away matches have gone over the total match points line and seeing as Penrith piled on 40 points on their own last start, we very much like the look of the overs here.
Betting tip: Over total match points.
