We are only entering round 3 of the 2025 NRLW season, but already, it’s clear to see this is set to be one of the most closely contested seasons of women’s rugby league in recent times.

Of the 12 teams in the NRLW, only three are yet to grab a win over the first two rounds.

This level of competitiveness makes tipping winners a bit of a daunting task but luckily we're here with our expert NRLW predictions to help carry the load.

So, without further ado, let’s jump into this week’s upcoming games and see if we can find some diamonds in the roughies.

Canberra Raiders Women vs Parramatta Eels Women Prediction

Saturday, July 19, 12:45pm AEST – GIO Stadium

Kicking off NRLW round 3 are the Canberra Raiders and the Parramatta Eels. Both sides suffered losses last week, but after seeing the Raiders’ scoreline, we imagine the Parra girls will be feeling a lot better about their 14-point defeat to New Zealand.

Yes, the Blue and Gold were completely shut out by the Warriors, but still, they ultimately lost the match by less than three converted tries.

The same cannot be said for the Raiders, however. They were blown off the park by the Sharks 56-6 in a mauling any Great White would have been proud of.

To make matters even worse, Parra actually beat the Sharks two weeks ago in round one. Unsurprisingly, we’ll be backing the visitors here.

Head-to-head prediction: Parramatta Eels Women.

Betting tip: Rory Owen anytime try scorer.

Canterbury Bulldogs Women vs St George Illawarra Dragons Women Prediction

Saturday, July 19, 3:15pm AEST – Accor Stadium

The Bulldogs are one of three teams left in the NRLW that have a perfect record so far this season.

They’ve gone two from two to start the season and will be looking to complete the hat-trick when they welcome the Dragons to Accor Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

We fancy them to do just that, after the Dragons went down to the Chooks last week. However, we don’t think it will be overly convincing, as both of the Bulldogs wins this season have been low scoring and hard fought.

Meanwhile, in an interesting subplot sisters Alexis and Trinity Tauaneai will go head-to-head for the first time here.

Head-to-head prediction: Canterbury Bulldogs Women.

Betting tip: Under total match points.

Cronulla Sharks Women vs North Queensland Cowboys Women Prediction

Saturday, July 19, 5:15pm AEST – Shark Park

Last week’s top performers Cronulla will welcome the Cowboys to Shark Park on Saturday as they look to build on their mammoth win over the Raiders.

After putting 56 on the hapless Green Machine, which included an Emma Verran four-piece feed and some truly epic Try July celebrations, the Sharks should be riding a tidal wave of momentum into this one.

We’re tipping them to use it to wash the Cowboys away, particularly since they’ll be circling in their home waters.

Head-to-head prediction: Cronulla Sharks Women.

Betting tip: Emma Verran first try scorer.

Wests Tigers Women vs Gold Coast Titans Women Prediction

Sunday, July 20, 11:50am AEST – Leichhardt Oval

Much like their male counterparts, it appears that the Gold Coast Titans are set to struggle in season 2025.

Two games, two losses and the last one wasn’t pretty. The girls from the Goldie were taught a footballing lesson by Sunshine State rivals the Broncos, to the tune of 40 points.

The Tigers lost last start too, but were far more admirable in defeat, going down by a single four pointer to Canterbury.

With home ground advantage on their side and the Titans’ confidence spiralling by the week, we’ll be taking the Tigers here.

Head-to-head prediction: Wests Tigers Women.

Betting tip: Under total match points.

Brisbane Broncos Women vs Sydney Roosters Women Prediction

Sunday, July 20, 1:45pm AEST – Totally Workwear Stadium

It may only be early doors, but we have a first vs second clash on our hands here. Both the Brisbane Broncos and the Sydney Roosters have been perennial powerhouses of the NRLW over the years, and it looks as if that trend is going to continue in season 2025.

Brisbane produced a stunning 44-4 win over M1 rivals the Gold Coast last week, however it was soured by the sending off of debutant Reegan Hicks in the 57th minute for a dangerous tackle.

Still, if they can win like that a player down, imagine what they can do with everyone on the field. Someone’s undefeated start to the season has to give here and we’re tipping it to be the Roosters.

Head-to-head prediction: Brisbane Broncos Women.

Betting tip: Tamika Upton first try scorer.

Newcastle Knights Women vs New Zealand Warriors Women Prediction

Sunday, July 20, 6:15pm AEST – McDonald Jones Stadium

The Warriors got their first win since returning to the NRLW last week, when they saw off the Parramatta Eels 14-0.

The Knights proved there is life after Tamika Upton, picking up their first win since the Queensland superstar departed to the Broncos.

The H2H odds have the Knights as solid favourites here and at home, and we’re inclined to trust the market.

Head-to-head prediction: Newcastle Knights Women.

Betting tip: Sheridan Gallagher first try scorer.
