Parramatta Eels vs Sydney Roosters Prediction – Round 25 2025

21/08/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The Roosters are on an impressive run to the finals, having impressive outings against the Dolphins and beating a top 4 side in the Bulldogs in the last two weeks, and are now on a three game winning streak.

Sam Walker’s return and a consistent go to spine has allowed the tri-colour team to improve their attack and build combinations defensively.

Although Daniel Tupou shined in the win over the Bulldogs, he has been ruled out as he suffered a head knock in the win.

You know what they say? When there’s no Tupou, there is a Tupou, as Junior Tupou replaces Daniel, making his club debut after joining in late June.

Parramatta Eels had a really disappointing outing against the Rabbitohs. In what should’ve been a win for the blue and gold, turned into a Jye Gray and Tallis Duncan masterclass.

Here’s how the Eels and Roosters line up for this clash, as well as some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer, and over/under markets. This is our Eels vs Roosters prediction.

Eels vs Roosters Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The Roosters are heavy favourites against the Eels and rightfully so.

With their form and being battle tested against the Bulldogs, it’s going to be hard for the Eels to upset a team in red hot form.

Sydney Roosters have won each of their last eight matches when they’re the favourite against the Parramatta Eels.

In four of the last five matches between these two teams, the Roosters have defeated the Eels.

The last time the Eels won this matchup was in the 2022 season, Parramatta would become a top 4 team and be in the grand final.

Betting tip: Sydney Roosters

First Try Scorer Prediction

Both teams can put points on early in the game, and have done so in the past two games.

The Roosters against the Eels have succeeded in utilising their right edge and pulling apart the Eels left edge defence.

Expect a player from the Roosters to score first, as the club has scored the first try in 71.4% of matches this season.

This season, Mark Nawaqanitawase has scored the first try of the game four times this season and is a favourite to score first again.

With his ability to catch the ball in the air and make a play from nothing and his recent performances not including a lot of tries, the Roosters will give him opportunity for the ball to be in his hands and going over the line for four points.

Betting tip: Mark Nawaqanitawase

Over/Under Prediction

With how competitive and how well both teams have played in the last month, this has the chance to be a tight contest.

The Eels’ last three games have gone under the total match points line.

In eight of Parramatta’s last nine matches in Sydney, the games have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under total match points
