Parramatta Eels vs Penrith Panthers Prediction – Round 19 2025

11/07/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

With both sides back from the bye, the Parramatta Eels and Penrith Panthers will be fresh and raring to go for this Battle of the West at CommBank Stadium.

These fierce rivals met earlier this season, with the Panthers winning 18-10 in a close-fought contest.

The Eels went down 34-20 to the Dragons in their last outing, leaving them placed in the bottom four and their season on life support.

On the other hand, Penrith put in the performance of its season to topple the Bulldogs 8-6 and are now sitting in sixth position entering this one.

For Parra, new mid-season recruit Tallyn Da Silva has been named to come off the bench. Sam Tuivaiti also comes into the 17, with Kelma Tuilagi and Joash Papalii making way.

Nathan Cleary, Dylan Edwards, Brian To’o, Liam Martin and Isaah Yeo have been listed in the reserves with a chance to return for Penrith after their Origin nightmare.

If they are still licking their wounds after yet another QLD ambush, Daine Laurie, Paul Alamoti, Jack Cole, Mavrik Geyer and Matt Eisenhuth are ready to roll in their stead.

Here’s how both sides will line up, as well as betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer, and over/under markets. This is our Eels vs Panthers prediction.

Eels vs Panthers Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Dead last just eight rounds ago, now sixth, Penrith seem to have one message for the rest of the competition – “you should have finished us off when you had the chance.”

Next up is a good old Battle of the West against traditional rivals Parra, whose season is all but over, with 10 games still to play.

Obviously, Penrith have a plethora of players away on Origin duty, but being a Sunday game, it will be far enough removed from Wednesday’s battle royale, that injuries permitting, they should all be ready to back up.

Seeking win number five on the bounce, we’re picking Penrith to find exactly what they’re looking for here against the lowly Eels.

Betting tip: Penrith Panthers.

First Try Scorer Prediction

It’s funny how often in professional sports that a team’s former player comes back to haunt them.

After enduring a shaky start after switching Parra for Penrith, versatile youngster Blaize Talagi seems to have found his feet at five-eighth for the reigning champions.

He has scored a try in three of Penrith's last four away matches and while technically CommBank Stadium is neutral ground, this is listed as an Eels home game. We’re backing Blaize to catch fire early in this one.

Betting tip: Blaze Talagi.

Over/Under Prediction

Part of Penrith’s recent revival after their sluggish start to the season has been their ability to simply grind teams into the ground.

They’ve also done this rather frequently at their home stadium, with each of Penrith's last five matches at CommBank Stadium going under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under total match points.
