Despite both being no chance of finals, there is plenty to play for when the Newcastle Knights face the Parramatta Eels at CommBank Stadium on Sunday.

The Knights are hoping to avoid their first wooden spoon in eight years and end a wretched run of eight consecutive losses. A win or draw will be enough for them to avoid finishing bottom.

Despite finals being out of the equation for weeks, the Eels have only gotten better as the season has progressed, winning four of their last six, including three against top eight sides.

Parramatta will be keen to pick up its third win in a row to end a solid first year for rookie coach Jason Ryles.

Dylan Brown has been named at five-eighth as he gets the chance to farewell the Eels faithful before joining Sunday’s opponents on a 10-year contract from next season.

Adam O’Brien has named the same 17 for his last game in charge of the Knights as he too makes his farewells.

Check out our Parramatta Eels vs Newcastle Knights match preview for plenty of betting tips and predictions across a host of markets.
