St George Dragons vs New Zealand Warriors Prediction – Round 10 2025

09/05/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

Along with the Raiders, the Warriors have announced themselves as the surprise packet of the season.

Despite losing high-profile players in the offseason, they’ll be pushing for their fourth straight win when they face the St. George Illawarra Dragons at WIN Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Dragons were once again their own worst enemy last week, going down 34-28 to the Tigers in an entertaining contest during which was headlined by a brutal two-try swing on the stroke of half-time.

Meanwhile, the Whas moved up to third on the ladder after a stirring victory against the Cowboys, although they did lose Ed Kosi and Rocco Berry to injury during that result.

In timely news, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak will line up on the wing for his first game of the season. Kurt Capewell moves back to the centres and Jackson Ford is elevated to start at prop.

There’s just the one change for the hosts with Loko Pasifiki Tonga coming onto the bench for his NRL debut, replacing the injured Emre Guler.

Let’s check out the rest of the lineups for this one, along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Dragons vs Warriors prediction.

Dragons vs Warriors Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The Wahs slugged out another impressive win against the Cowboys and now find themselves entrenched in the top four. Chalk and cheese compared to this time last year and even the start of this one.

Andrew Webster deserves all the credit here. He has them fit and firing at the right time to really push their case forward and bank some more wins with the Origin period coming up.

The Dragons, despite another close game, came up short again against the Tigers, as they fell to their fifth loss of the season.

They have a nice blend of experience and youth, but we’re expecting them to be outgunned in almost every department here against a Warriors side that will look to slice its way through the aging Dragons’ backline.

Betting tip: New Zealand Warriors.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Now that he’s back in action, it’s very tempting to back Dallin Watene-Zelezniak in this market. Particularly when you learn that DWZ has scored at least one try in eight of his last nine away appearances against opponents that were ranked lower on the ladder.

Despite this stat, we’re tipping him to use this game to find his feet, as it’s important to remember this is his first of the season. Instead, we’re going to take his teammate Adam Pompey and back him to be the one to open the scoring.

Betting tip: Adam Pompey.

Over/Under Prediction

Lately, whenever the Warriors come to Aus, the points seem to follow them. Each of New Zealand's last four matches on Australian soil have gone over the total match points line.

With this one in the very Australia region of Wollongong, we’re tipping this high scoring trend to continue.

Betting tip: Over total match points.
