Two teams coming off disappointing losses will look to bounce back as the St. George Illawarra Dragons host the Gold Coast Titans at WIN Stadium in the first of Friday night’s double-header.

Following a brilliant upset over the Storm, the Dragons went into last week’s clash against the lowly Eels full of confidence but instead suffered their second one-point loss of the season, this time in golden point thanks to former Dragon Zac Lomax’s field goal.

The Titans also went into last week brimming with confidence but fell well short against the previously winless Dolphins to continue their underwhelming record against the competition's newest team.

On the troops front, the Titans welcome back Sam Verrills and Jojo Fifita but have lost skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui to suspension, in a big out.

Can they bounce back against the Dragons without their main man Tino? Or will St George be the ones returning to the winner’s circle?

Let’s take a look at how these two teams will line up on Friday night, along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Dragons vs Titans prediction.

Dragons vs Titans Teams

St George Dragons

1. Clint Gutherson

2. Tyrell Sloan

3.
Dragons vs Titans Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

From beating the Melbourne Storm, to losing to the Parramatta Eels. Ladies and gentlemen – the St George Dragons.

The Titans are just as unpredictable, just as they had us convinced they were cooking in 2025, they go and lose at home to the, at the time, winless Dolphins.

The main headline from the Dragons’ loss to the Eels, was the performance of their skipper Clint Gutherson.

The ex-Parramatta custodian clearly had a bone to pick with his former employers as he channelled his inner Michael Jordan and made things personal.

Gutho scored two tries, set up another, made four line breaks and ran for 157 meters in a one-man masterclass.

That wasn’t enough to get the chocolates on that occasion, but should he put in a similar shift here and his teammates ride with him, surely, they’ll be able to get one over the hot and cold Titans.

Betting tip: St George Dragons.

First Try Scorer Prediction

From one fullback to another. While Gutho will rightly hog the headlines heading into this contest, it’s his opposite number we’ll be back in this market.

In each of St. George Illawarra's last four matches, the opposition's starting fullback has scored a try, meaning where throwing our support behind young Jaylan De Groot to be the one to open the scoring here.

Betting tip: Jaylan De Groot.

Over Under Prediction

Despite being a team that is associated with adlib, attacking footy, combined with a disdain for defence, punters may be surprised to find out that eight of Gold Coast's last nine away matches have gone under the total match points line.

With this match being down in Wollongong, we’ll be tipping for this form line to materialise once again.

Betting tip: Under total match points.

Dragons vs Titans Match Details

Date: Friday, April 11, 2025.

Kick-off: 6:00pm AEST.

Location: WIN Stadium, Wollongong.
