St George Illawarra Dragons vs Melbourne Storm Prediction
26/03/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips
When the Dragons host the Storm on Saturday afternoon, it will be a case of the yet-to-win welcoming the undefeated.
Even when facing lesser opposition, playing away from home is usually a daunting task. Well, not for the Melbourne Storm.
Craig Bellamy’s side have won seven of their last eight away matches, meaning St George will have their work cut out for them guarding their own fortress here.
Do the Dragons have what it takes to upset the Storm and record their first win of 2025? Or will the undefeated Melbourne machine roll on?
Let’s find out. Here’s how these two teams will line up this weekend along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Dragons vs Storm prediction.

Dragons vs Storm Prediction and Betting Tips
Head-to-Head Prediction
It will be interesting to see how much a week off will have helped St George as they go searching for their first win of the season.
In true Dragon’s fashion an off season full of hype and hope has given way to nothing but disappointment. To make matters worse, the table-topping Melbourne Storm await this weekend.
Even with reigning Dally M Medallist Jahrome Hughes sidelined with a broken hand, the Storm have the very capable Tyran Wishart ready to deputise and should have far too much quality for the winless Dragons.
Betting tip: Melbourne Storm.
First Try Scorer Prediction
There are a number of potential options here when it comes to the first try scorer market.
Elusive fullback turned winger Tyrell Sloan has certainly grabbed our attention, while Jahrome Hughes’ replacement at halfback, Tryan Wishart, has shown his propensity for elite support play that allows him to find the line more than any back-up half should.
Both are appealing choices, but after he scored off the pine last start, we’re backing Wishart to show everyone why he deserves to be a starting no.7 whether that be at Melbourne, or elsewhere.
Betting tip: Tyran Wishart.
Over/Under Prediction
Ironically the Storm seem to love the sunshine. When it doesn’t rain, it pours, points. Each of Melbourne’s last nine day games have gone over the total match points line, which is set at 50.5 here.
Betting tip: Over total match points.
