St George Illawarra Dragons vs Parramatta Eels Prediction – Round 27 2026

Joel Caine|03/09/2026|

The St. George Illawarra Dragons and Parramatta Eels will end their 2026 campaigns at WIN Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Locked into bottom spot and an eighth consecutive season without a finals appearance, the Dragons went down 44-10 to Manly last Friday.

Dean Young’s side will be looking to end their season on a high by securing a first victory in Wollongong this year.

Meanwhile, the Eels are also ending a disappointing campaign but enter this match fresh off a 38-18 upset over the finals-bound Sharks last Sunday.

Jordan Samrani returns in the centres, with the departing Sean Russell moving to the bench for his final game in Blue and Gold.

Jack De Belin will get the chance to face his former club in his own Eels swansong after being named on the interchange as well, alongside potential debutant Tyrese Lokeni.

For the Red V, Blake Lawrie comes into the starting side at prop, Loko Jnr Pasifiki Tonga moves to lock, and Ryan Couchman drops to the bench. The Eels claimed a 30-20 win when these sides met at the start of this season.

Dragons vs Eels Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Two sides outside the finals meet at WIN Stadium on Sunday afternoon, but of the two, it’s who Parramatta arrive with a spring in their step after thumping Cronulla 38-18 last week.

That result showed the Eels can be devastating when their attack fires and for a defence as dismal as the Dragons’, that could be a real concern

The head-to-head number leans heavily towards the visitors: Parramatta has won each of their last eight day matches against St George Illawarra. With a Sunday afternoon kick-off, that trend is directly relevant here.

St George Illawarra will fight hard at home, but the Eels' recent form and their day-match dominance in this fixture make them our pick.

Betting tip: Parramatta Eels

First Try Scorer Prediction

He scored a solo try for the ages last week, just signed a new deal and has scored a try in each of Parramatta's last four matches.

Ladies and gentlemen, Ronald Volkman is our pick for first try scorer here.

Betting tip: Ronald Volkman.

Over/Under Prediction

Five of Parramatta's last six away matches have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under 56.5 total match points

Line Prediction

St. George Illawarra has failed to cover the line in each of their last four day matches at WIN Stadium.

Betting tip: Eels (-3.5) line
