Two teams desperate for points will meet when the St. George Illawarra Dragons host the Parramatta Eels at WIN Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Eels have won four on the trot over the Dragons, including a golden point thriller earlier this year, although this marks their first meeting in Wollongong since 2018.

Painfully for the Red V it was their former star Zac Lomax who nailed the winning field goal on that occasion, marking one of their three losses by a solitary point this season.

Coming off the bye, the Dragons will regain Valentine Holmes from Origin duty with Corey Allan, Christian Tuipulotu and Jaydn Su’A all returning from their respective injuries.

In a big boost for the Eels, departing star Dylan Brown is back from suspension, but on the flip side they’ve lost Ryley Smith and two-try hero from last week Will Penisini to fresh bans.

Jordan Samrani comes into the centres for Penisini and Joash Papalii drops back to the bench.

Let’s take a look at how both of these sides will line up for this one, along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer, and over/under markets. This is our Dragons vs Eels prediction.

Dragons vs Eels Teams

St George Illawarra Dragons Team List

1. Clinton Gutherson

2.
Dragons vs Eels Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

After a week off, the St George Dragons will return to action looking to avoid three straight defeats, as they welcome the Parramatta Eels to WIN Stadium on Saturday night.

Before their bye the Dragons were pummelled by the Dolphins 56-6, then went down by two converted tries to Cronulla.

Even though they’re at home here, we don’t overly fancy their chances against a Parramatta outfit who seem determined to avoid the wooden spoon, regardless how many key injuries they get.

Betting tip: Parramatta Eels.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Lomax to come back and haunt his former side for the second time this season? After condemning the Dragons to defeat with the last scoring play of the game back in round 5, we fancy Lomax to flip the script and be the first on the scoresheet here.

One of the game’s greatest threats in the air, if the Eels playmakers can kick to him early, there’s no reason why he can’t grab the opening meat pie here.

Betting tip: Zac Lomax.

Over/Under Prediction

When you have two teams who are down in the doldrums it always feels safer to lean towards low-scoring affairs.

Well-drilled attack stems from unshakable confidence, something neither of these sides possess at the moment.

That’s why it comes as little surprise to find out that each of Parramatta's last four away matches have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under total match points.

Dragons vs Eels Match Details

Date: Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Kick-off: 5:30pm AEST.

Location: WIN Stadium, Wollongong.
