Two teams who recorded narrow victories last week will tangle when the Dolphins host the high-flying Warriors at Suncorp Stadium.

The Warriors ground out a thrilling win over the Dragons down in Wollongong, their fourth victory in succession, with Luke Metcalf’s 69th minute field goal firing the New Zealand-based club to second on the NRL ladder.

Meanwhile the Dolphins picked up a road win of their own, down in Sydney, seeing off a desperate Parramatta side 20-16, to record their first win in three games.

Back at home can they upset a Warriors side who have quietly transformed into title contenders? Or will Andrew Webster’s men record their fifth win in a row?

Here’s how both of these sides will line up on Saturday afternoon as well as some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Dolphins vs Warriors prediction.

Dolphins vs Warriors Teams

The Dolphins Team List

1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow

2.
Dolphins vs Warriors Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Somehow, without anyone really paying attention, the New Zealand Warriors have climbed to second on the ladder.

Unlike the Warriors of old, they have developed a knack for digging deep and grinding out thrilling wins.

Case in point, their 15-14 win away against the Dragons last week. Halfback Luke Metcalf was once again the hero, scoring 11 of the Warriors' 15 points, including the decisive field goal.

Staying in Aus, the Warriors now head to Suncorp Stadium to take on the Dolphins, who picked up a close win of their own last start.

In fact, the Phins were a last-ditch miracle try-saving tackle from Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, away from losing to the bottom of the ladder Eels last week. So, we’re not giving them much hope against the high-flying Warriors here.

Betting tip: New Zealand Warriors.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Even though we’re backing them to eventually lose this match, we can definitely see the Dolphins get off to a fast start at home in front of their own.

Always an eligible candidate for first try scorer, is Englishman Herbie Farnworth. While we don’t expect him or the Phins to go bananas, Herbie was on the scoresheet last week and we’re tipping him to back that up by opening the scoring here.

Betting tip: Herbie Farnworth.

Over/Under Prediction

Not only are the Warriors the new kings of the grind, but it turns out the Dolphins too love a low-scoring affair in 2025.

Four of the Dolphins' last five home matches have gone under the total match points line and with this one scheduled to play out on Suncorp Stadium, we’ll be tipping the under here.

Betting tip: Under total match points.

Dolphins vs Warriors Match Details

Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Kick-off: 3:00pm AEST.

Location: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.
