The fight for the top eight rages on with the Dolphins hosting the Sydney Roosters in a cracking matchup at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday evening.

These two teams met at this venue during Magic Round, where the Roosters won 36-26.

The Dolphins maintained their grip on eighth spot last week after beating the Warriors 20-18 over in Auckland. After that result, a win here over the ninth-placed Roosters would go a long way to consolidating their maiden finals berth.

Meanwhile, the Roosters snapped their two-match losing streak with a 20-4 win over the Sea Eagles to move ahead of them on the ladder. As a reward, Trent Robinson has the luxury of sticking with the same 17 this week.

The Dolphins continue to be bitten by the injury bug, with gun centre Herbie Farnworth the latest to be sidelined. Tevita Naufahu steps up in his absence, while Kulikefu Finefeuiaki returns via the interchange with Felise Kaufusi missing through suspension.

Check out our Dolphins vs Sydney Roosters match preview for plenty of betting tips and predictions across a host of markets. It also might be the most important in terms of the premiership ladder.

Both the Dolphins and the Roosters are fighting for eighth at the moment, with the Phins two points ahead of the Tri-colours.

This effectively makes this a must-win for the Chooks, because a four-point swing in the race for the eight would be detrimental to their final’s aspirations.

After their impressive away win over Manly last week coupled with Herbie Farnworth’s awful season ending injury for The Dolphins, we’re going to back the Roosters to close the gap between them and the Phins to points difference alone on Saturday.

Betting tip: Sydney Roosters.

First Tryscorer Prediction

One of the usual suspects for this market this season has been the man who plays fullback for The Dolphins.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has scored two or more tries in each of the Dolphins' last four matches at Suncorp Stadium against opponents that were ranked lower on the ladder.

With a strike rate like that, we’re more than happy to take him as our first try scorer in this one.

Betting tip: Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.

Over/Under Prediction

Five of the Dolphins' last six matches at Suncorp Stadium have gone over the total match points line.

Betting tip: Over total match points (48.5).

Line Prediction

The home team has covered the line in each of the four previous matches between the Dolphins and Sydney.

Betting tip: Dolphins (+1.5).

Dolphins vs Roosters Anytime Tryscorer Betting Tips

Mark Nawaqanitawase

Mark Nawaqanitawase has scored at least one try in each of his five previous appearances against teams on a winning streak.

Kodi Nikorima

In each of the Dolphins' last four home matches, their starting five-eighth has scored at least one try.

Billy Smith

In each of Sydney's last four matches as a favourite, its starting right centre has scored at least one try.

Jake Averillo

Jake Averillo has scored at least one try in each of the Dolphins' last three matches in Queensland.

Daniel Tupou

Daniel Tupou has scored at least one try in five of Sydney's last six matches.

Dolphins vs Roosters Teams

The Dolphins Team List

1.
