Dolphins fans rejoice! You’re finally on the board this year.

Along with the Eels, the Dolphins completed the circle of every team recording a win so far in 2025 and got off the bottom rungs of the ladder.

As they prepare to open the next round at Suncorp Stadium, Amazingly the Panthers are one rung below them on the ladder and the dynasty might be over just like that?

Even the return of the prodigal son Nathan Cleary couldn’t save the four -time reigning premiers from losing four in a row. Leaving them languishing at nearly the foot of the NRL ladder. A place that would be oh, so foreign for them.

Can the Dolphins keep building momentum and inflict some more pain on the reigning champs? Or can the Panthers lift themselves off the canvas and get rolling?

Let’s take a look at how these two teams will line up this weekend along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Dolphins vs Panthers prediction.

Dolphins vs Panthers Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

It appears the dynasty that delivered an unprecedented four consecutive premierships to the foot of the mountains may finally be coming to an end.

The Dolphins, who until last week were winless, enter this clash ahead of Penrith on the NRL ladder.

It seems like a crazy statistic, but the fact of the matter is Penrith have won just once this year. The return of prodigal son Nathan Cleary could not save them from a fourth consecutive loss last week.

Despite all the doom and gloom for the reigning champs, we just can’t see them losing five on the spin and potentially falling to the foot of the ladder.

However, should they lose here we may be forced to reconsider everything we once knew about Rugby League.

First Try Scorer Prediction

While the Panthers might have gone slightly off the boil this year, young centre Casey McLean has started the season steadily after narrowly avoiding the axe a couple of weeks ago.

The Kiwi international has gone over three times in four games this season and is building into a breakout season nicely. With Brian To’o still a week away with his hamstring injury, we’re backing McLean to open things up on the scoreboard for the Panthers.

Over Under Prediction

The Panthers have won both meetings against the Dolphins thus far in the short history of this matchup. It’s a matchup in which the Panthers have had no trouble in finding the try-line. Scoring nine tries in the two meetings.

The last meeting between these sides last year was a near 50-point combined, high scoring thriller.

Despite results not going their way, the Panthers have had trouble scoring this year, averaging nearly four tries a game.

The Dolphins flexed last week against the Titans but have largely struggled to find the line this season.

With the line set at 48.5 for this one, given both teams' struggles so far this season, we might settle for a low scoring thriller here.
