North Queensland Cowboys vs Gold Coast Titans Prediction – Round 8 2025
24/04/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips
After a shocking start to the season, the North Queensland Cowboys sailed into the bye on the back of three consecutive victories.

They will be looking to continue that form when state rivals the Gold Coast Titans visit Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Titans’ form has been the opposite to that of the Cowboys, losing three on the bounce after a bright start, to slump to 13th place on the ladder.

Des Hasler’s men started in exhilarating fashion against Canberra on Easter Sunday, but they let a 16-0 lead slip, ultimately coming up short in a 30-20 defeat.

There is some good news for the Titans ahead of this one though, try scoring phenom Alofiana Khan-Pereira back from injury to slot in on the wing. Meanwhile human wrecking ball David Fifita has also been named despite injury concerns.

That’s the good news for Gold Coast fans, now for the bad. The Titans have an atrocious record when travelling to North Queensland over the past 12 seasons, winning just once.

Can they reverse their North Queensland curse and pick up a rare win in the tropics? Or will it be business as usual for the in form Cowboys?

Let’s take a look at the team lists for this one, as well as some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Cowboys vs Titans prediction.

Cowboys vs Titans Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

A fully rested Cowboys’ outfit will be looking to continue their renaissance when they welcome fellow Queenslanders, the Titans, to the tropics on Saturday afternoon.

Before their bye last week, the Cowboys had won their last three games in a row, to correct their horror 0-3 start to the season.

They now sit on the precipice of the top eight and playing against a side who have lost their last three on the spin, we’re tipping them to get their chocolates a week later than everyone else.

Betting tip: North Queensland Cowboys.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Rookie North Queensland flyer Jaxon Purdue is quickly adapting to life in the NRL. Born in 2005 (yes, you’re officially old) and with only 14 first grade games under his belt, Purdue has scored at least one try in four of North Queensland's last five matches.

That’s quite the hit rate for the young man and we’re tipping him to add to his rapidly growing tally, by crossing for the first try in this one.

Betting tip: Jaxon Purdue.

Over/Under Prediction

Whenever the Titans are involved, we always like the look of the over total match points line.

True advocates of the all-out attack strategy, they often concede more than they score and they score plenty.

Betting tip: Over total match points.
