Canterbury Bulldogs vs Wests Tigers Prediction – Round 20 2026

16/07/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The Canterbury Bulldogs will look to keep their slim finals hopes alive when they host the Wests Tigers at Accor Stadium on Saturday night.

The Dogs had their momentum halted with a disappointing 40-16 loss to the Raiders at this venue last Saturday, snapping a three-match winning streak.

Meanwhile, the Tigers were comfortably beaten 32-6 by the Warriors last Friday, marking a fourth consecutive defeat, with their finals drought likely to continue.

Jared Haywood has been elevated to starting hooker for the Tigers, with Josese Lanyon moving back to the bench. Fonua Pole replaces the suspended Bunty Afoa at prop, while Api Koroisau is listed in the reserves.

Jacob Preston and Enari Tuala return to the starting side for the Dogs, while Sean O'Sullivan is named at five-eighth, although Stephen Crichton has been listed amongst the reserves in an effort to get up for the weekend.

The Tigers won 22-16 when these sides met earlier this season, but that was long before the latest Luai saga. Can they brush aside all the drama and find a way to win this one?

Bulldogs vs Tigers Predictions and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The latest installment of the ‘Disappointment Derby’ takes place at Accor Stadium on Saturday when the Bulldogs and Tigers go toe-to-toe.

There’s always plenty of promise, high profile recruits and signs of life in and around both of these sides.

It’s just always followed with nothing but disappointment unfortunately. This season has been no different.

The Bulldogs preseason hype gave way to nothing but patchy performances, while the Tigers bright start to the season, quickly transformed into a four-game losing streak.

Both teams got belted last week and to be honest we don’t fancy tipping either side here.

In times like this we always turn to the odds, and the Bulldogs are solid favourites, so we’ll be taking them in what is sure to be a scrappy affair.

Betting tip: Canterbury Bulldogs.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Some players just love playing against specific opponents. Bulldogs centre Enari Tuala is one of those players.

He has scored at least one try in three of his four previous appearances against the Wests Tigers in Sydney and is our tip for first try scorer on Saturday.

Betting tip: Enari Tuala.

Over/Under Prediction

Each of the Wests Tigers' last seven-night matches have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under (44.5) total match points

Line Prediction

Canterbury has failed to cover the line in eight of their last nine matches as a favourite.

Betting tip: Tigers (+6.5) line
