Canterbury Bulldogs vs South Sydney Rabbitohs Prediction – Round 24 2026

13/08/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

Traditional rivals will meet when the Canterbury Bulldogs clash with the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Accor Stadium in a Friday night blockbuster.

The Bulldogs went down 20-18 to the Roosters last Friday. The result saw them slip back to ninth, two points behind the Cowboys and this week's opponents entering Round 24.

Meanwhile, the Rabbitohs claimed a 28-24 victory over the Eels on Saturday to maintain their place inside the top eight.

The Bunnies have lost halfback Ashton Ward to a nasty hamstring injury that rules him out for the remainder of the season.

Jayden Sullivan steps into his position. Campbell Graham returns on the wing, which sees Jye Gray revert to the bench. Euan Aitken, Edward Kosi and Peter Mamouzelos form a new-look interchange.

Just one change for the Bulldogs, with the injured Sitili Tupouniua replaced on the bench by Alekolasimi Jones.

The Rabbitohs got the better of the Bulldogs 32-24 when these sides met earlier in the year, but how will this one play out?

For the latest team news, analysis, and expert insights ahead of this Friday night fiesta, check out our Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs tips and predictions below!

Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

A classic all-Sydney smash between the Bulldogs and the Rabbitohs will wrap up Friday’s Round 24 action.

The Bulldogs recent red-hot run came to an end last week, as they went down in a two-point thriller to the ever redder and hotter Roosters.

The Bunnies meanwhile nearly blew a 28-0 lead against the lowly Eels, with the match ending 28-24 in scenes that would have had Wayne Bennett pulling out the last of his hair.

For whatever reason, the Rabbitohs simply can’t find consistency this season, maybe it’s injuries, maybe it’s belief, maybe it’s both?

The only consistency around Redfern is try-scoring GOAT Alex Johnston’s form. Win or lose he simply cannot stop running in four-pointers, adding another hat-trick last start to take his tally to 25 this season.

The Bunnies have been maintaining a uniform WLWLW record recently, so if that is to continue, they’re due their fortnightly loss here.

Betting tip: Canterbury Bulldogs

First Try Scorer Prediction

Another week, another hat-trick. How much more can we harp on about this man? A lot.

As previously mentioned, Alex Johnston just simply won’t stop scoring tries and when he’s in this kind of form it feels foolish backing anyone else in this market.

Oh yeah, to the surprise of no one, Johnston has scored at least one try in each of his last 10 appearances at Accor Stadium.

Betting tip: Alex Johnston

Over/Under Prediction

Five of South Sydney's last six matches have gone over the total match points line.

Betting tip: Over (43.5) total match points

Line Prediction

South Sydney has covered the line in each of their last 10 night matches at Accor Stadium.

Betting tip: Rabbitohs (+3.5) line
