Brisbane Broncos vs New Zealand Warriors Prediction – Round 17 2025
26/06/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips
The Brisbane Broncos will go searching for a third straight win when they welcome the New Zealand Warriors to Suncorp Stadium on Saturday arvo.

Despite all the doom and gloom around Michael Maguire’s side this season, they somehow currently find themselves in fifth.

A win here would put them within striking distance of the top four, particularly since it’s the Warriors who currently occupy that highly coveted fourth spot on the ladder.

Speaking of the Warriors, they will be disappointed with their showing last week, going down to the Panthers in New Zealand, who were without all their Origin stars.

It proved to be a bruising defeat on both the scoreboard and the field with a number of key players now in doubt for the Wahs.

Let’s have a look at the full team lists for this clash, along with betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer, and over/under markets. This is our Broncos vs Warriors prediction.

Broncos vs Warriors Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Are the Broncos back? After their daring come from behind win against the Sharks it certainly seems that way.

Finding themselves down 28-12 after 53 minutes, on their own patch, it looked like more doom and gloom for Michael Maguire’s men in 2025.

However, they promptly clicked into gear and off the back of some big plays from big names like Reece Walsh, both Gehamat Shibasaki and Josiah Karapani crossed for doubles to sew up a memorable 34-28 victory.

They’ll be back at Lang Park again this week, with the wounded Warriors in tow. Not only did they Wahs lose at home to an undermanned Penrith side last start, but they lost Dallin Watene-Zelezniak to injury and looked as if Marata Niukore, and halfback Luke Metcalf were set to join him in the infirmary this week.

Miraculously they’ve both been named to play this week, but no doubt they will both face late fitness tests before being given the green light.

Between the omission of DWZ, the knocks to both Metcalf and Niukore and the travel, we think it will all be too much for the Warriors to overcome. We like the look of a third straight Brisbane win here.

Betting tip: Brisbane Broncos.

First Try Scorer Prediction

When in doubt, go with the mo. Ok, as impressive as Gehamat Shibasaki facial hair is, there’s a little bit more than that, that has gone into our thinking here.

The Broncos’ latest cult hero has rekindled his early season form in recent weeks and has been popping up for crucial meat pies when his team needs them.

He scored a timely double last week to help seal a memorable comeback win against the Sharks and we’re backing him to get the party started at Lang Park against the Warriors on Saturday.

Betting tip: Gehamat Shibasaki.

Over/Under Prediction

Two teams that love to get involved in a fire fight, we’re predicting plenty of points in this one.

Also, seven of New Zealand's last eight matches as an underdog have gone over the total match points line, so keep that in mind too.

Betting tip: Over total match points.
