With a maiden finals appearance still within reach, the Dolphins will aim to knock off big brothers the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday evening.

With four rounds remaining, the Dolphins remain inside the top eight by the skin of their teeth despite last Saturday’s humiliating 64-12 loss to the Roosters, who are breathing down the neck of Kristian Woolf’s side.

The Dolphins will aim to avoid a second loss to the Broncos this season after going down 20-12 earlier in the year.

Meanwhile, Brisbane’s 22-2 loss to the Storm was made worse after halves duo Ezra Mam and Adam Reynolds both suffered hamstring injuries. Billy Walters and Ben Hunt will take up the playmaking mantle for the Broncos, while Cory Paix is the new man in the middle at hooker. Josiah Karapani also replaces the injured Selwyn Cobbo on the wing.

Mark Nicholls steps up at prop for the Dolphins as Francis Molo misses with suspension, while Kenny Bromwich returns via the bench.

Check out our Brisbane Broncos vs The Dolphins match preview for plenty of betting tips and predictions across a host of markets. Check out our Broncos vs Dolphins prediction below.

Broncos vs Dolphins Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The Queensland Derby on Saturday night will be contested by two teams coming off truly devastating losses.

The Dolphins loss at home to the Roosters was devastating due to the 64 points they shipped thanks to a defensive disaster class.

While there is no shame in going down to the Storm in Melbourne, for the Broncos losing both of your starting halves in the same game, in the same play no less, is the very definition of devastating.

Both Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam suffered freak hamstring injuries in the same play as they attempted to chase down a runaway Xavier Coates.

Neither will be back before the finals, but luckily, they have Ben Hunt ready to step up and steer the ship.

For us it feels impossible to turn around and back a side that has just conceded 64, even if their opposition will have a brand-new halves pairing.

Betting tip: Brisbane Broncos.

First Tryscorer Prediction

Reece Lightning to strike early in this one? We think so! Reece Walsh has scored at least one try in five of his last six appearances against opponents that were ranked lower on the ladder and is our pick for first try scorer here.

Betting tip: Reece Walsh.

Line Prediction

The Dolphins have covered the line in four of their five previous matches against Brisbane.

Betting tip: The Dolphins (+2.5).

Broncos vs Dolphins Anytime Tryscorer Betting Tips

Max Feagai

In each of the Dolphins' last seven matches as underdogs, their starting left centre has scored at least one try.

Josiah Karapani

Josiah Karapani has scored at least one try in each of his last three appearances against opponents that were ranked in the top eight.

Tevita Naufahu

In five of Brisbane's last six matches, the opposition's starting left wing has scored at least one try.

Gehamat Shibasaki

Gehamat Shibasaki has scored two tries in each of Brisbane's last two home matches against opponents that were ranked in the top eight.

Jake Averillo

Jake Averillo has scored at least one try in four of the Dolphins' last five matches against opponents from Queensland.

Jamayne Isaako

Jamayne Isaako has scored at least one try in four of the Dolphins' last five matches as underdogs against teams from Queensland.

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has scored two or more tries in three of the Dolphins' last four matches at Suncorp Stadium.

Broncos vs Dolphins Teams

Brisbane Broncos Team List

1.
