- Haumole Olakau'atu earns a bench recall after his two-try effort for Manly, with Blayke Brailey returning at hooker.

A Brutal Reshuffle After the MCG Loss

Off the back of a Game II defeat at the MCG, the Blues mentor has wielded the axe in one of the more dramatic Origin team shake-ups in recent memory.

Five players have been cut from the matchday 17, with Brian To'o, Victor Radley, Kotoni Staggs, Api Koroisau and Dylan Lucas all missing out.

Dropping a player of To'o's calibre wasn't taken lightly. The reigning Brad Fittler Medal winner has been one of Daley's most trusted lieutenants, but the coach felt a shift was needed heading into the Suncorp Stadium cauldron.

"Bizza's been one of my personal favourites and someone that's been the Brad Fittler Medal winner," Daley said. "He's given great service to New South Wales and he'll be back, but for this game, we just feel like we needed to make that change."

Bostock Gets the Nod, Best Returns to the Centres

Dolphins young gun Jack Bostock has been preferred over the likes of Tom Trbojevic, Josh Addo-Carr and Tom Jenkins, earning the wing spot after being named on the bench for Game II.

Daley pointed to his aerial presence and physical frame as key factors.

Bradman Best slots in alongside Stephen Crichton in the centres, with Daley wanting big-game experience at Lang Park. Tolu Koula drops back to the bench utility role.

"With Bradman, we felt that we probably needed someone there who has experienced Lang Park before," Daley explained. "Someone who's a big body that defends really well and carries the football strongly."

Martin Returns, Olakau'atu on the Bench

Liam Martin's recall to the starting back row in place of Lucas brings 14 Origin appearances worth of experience back into the side.

Daley says the Penrith enforcer is primed for the decider after four games back from injury.

Haumole Olakau'atu, dropped for Game II, has been named on the bench after a barnstorming double for Manly on Saturday.

Blayke Brailey returns at hooker after recovering from the broken arm that sidelined him in Game II, with Mitchell Moses and Nathan Cleary retaining the halves pairing.

With the shield on the line, all eyes now turn to Suncorp Stadium for what shapes as a season-defining Origin decider.
