Sportsbet donates $1K for every try during beanie for brain cancer round

<p>2024 marks the eighth year that Sportsbet will get behind the NRL and Mark Hughes Foundation for Beanie for Brain Cancer Round.</p> <p>Sportsbet will again donate $1,000 for every try that is scored across <a href="https://www.sportsbet.com.au/betting/rugby-league/nrl">Round 15 of the NRL</a>. 2023 saw 72 tries scored across the round and $72,000 donated to the Mark Hughes Foundation.</p> <p>Since the inception of Beanie for Brain Cancer Round in 2017, Sportsbet has donated $483,500 to the cause through various mechanics - $422,000 coming from the try scoring efforts of NRL players.</p> <p>When Round 15 brings up its 17th try it will mean the donation tally surpasses a whopping $500,000.</p> <p>Mark Hughes said the ongoing support from Sportsbet not only raised much needed funds for brain cancer research but also added plenty of fun across the week. He also had a message for NRL coaches.</p> <p>“Each year our MHF team are blown away by the amazing support from Sportsbet. Across the previous Beanie Rounds they have raised a staggering $483,500 and added a lot of fun by donating $1,000 each time a player scores a try. I also want to send out a message to the NRL coaches this week; put the tackling bags away!
