NRL Judiciary News – Round 24 Recap:
- Warriors’ fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has been handed a two-match ban for a hip drop tackle on Broncos’ star Reece Walsh.
- Walsh left Suncorp Stadium on crutches and in a moon boot and is expected to miss the rest of the 2026 season.
- Roosters lock Victor Radley has escaped suspension over his high shot on Brian To'o, accepting a $3,000 fine with an early guilty plea.
Nicoll-Klokstad Rubbed Out for Hip Drop on Walsh
The Warriors No.1 was sin-binned during Sunday's clash with the Broncos after a hip drop tackle sent Reece Walsh from the field in serious pain.
The Queensland playmaker was seen leaving Suncorp on crutches and in a moon boot, with early indications suggesting he could miss the remainder of Brisbane's campaign.
Nicoll-Klokstad's two-match suspension will jump to three if the Warriors elect to challenge the charge at the judiciary and lose.
It's a significant blow for Andrew Webster's side, who are still in the mix for a top four berth and have plenty on the line in the run home.
Two other Warriors were pinged from the same fixture, with Tanner Stowers-Smith and Jacob Laban both accepting fines for separate incidents. Both forwards remain available for selection next week.
Roosters Get a Boost as Radley Beats the Charge
At the other end of the table, the Sydney Roosters' minor premiership push has been handed a timely lift with Victor Radley cleared to play.
The Blues representative was placed on report in the 74th minute of Thursday night's 12-6 win over Penrith for a high shot on Panthers’ winger Brian To'o.
While Panthers supporters and players felt the incident warranted a sin bin, the MRC graded it a grade one careless high tackle.
Radley's chequered disciplinary record meant a challenge could have cost him a two-match ban, but the early guilty plea and $3,000 fine keeps him on the park for Trent Robinson's premiership tilt.
Penrith hooker Freddy Lussick was the only other player charged from the top-of-the-table clash, also escaping with a fine for dangerous contact.
NRL Ladder Heating Up Ahead of Round 25
With just three regular season rounds remaining, the ladder is tighter than a Bondi parking spot:
Sydney Roosters – top of the table, two points clear
Penrith Panthers – second, two points adrift
New Zealand Warriors – third, another two points back.
The Roosters will fancy their chances of locking in the minor premiership with Radley available, while the Warriors face a stern test to keep pace without their inspirational fullback.
Broncos fans, meanwhile, will be sweating on updates about Walsh as Brisbane's September plans hang in the balance.
