-          Moses Suli and Jye Gray both face a month on the sidelines with facial and shoulder injuries respectively.

-          Rocks and diamonds for Newcastle, Tyson Frizell and Dylan Lucas are likely out as marquee man Dylan Brown returns in Round 7.

-          Brisbane's injury crisis deepens as hookers Cory Paix and Blake Mozer join Ben Hunt in the casualty ward.

Bulldogs and Broncos Test Depth in Round 7

The physical toll of Round 6 has left several clubs reeling, particularly in the front row. Bulldogs and NSW front rower Max King is facing a long stint on the pine after suffering a broken jaw that is expected to keep him out over a month.

It’s a devastating blow for Canterbury, who are already missing Josh Curran and Leo Thompson in the middle.

Brisbane's depth is also being tested following a brutal encounter with the Cowboys. Third-string hooker Blake Mozer was the latest victim, suffering a broken jaw after being bulldozed by big Jason Taumalolo.

With Ben Hunt already sidelined, the Broncos are essentially out of specialist hooking options as their premiership defence begins to derail.

Marquee Man Dylan Brown Returns for Knights

There is finally some light at the end of the tunnel for Newcastle fans. Marquee signing Dylan Brown is expected to make his long-awaited return in Round 7.

His return comes at a perfect time as Newcastle look to cement their position in the top eight by defeating the Roosters.

However, it isn't all good news in the Hunter. The Knights are unlikely to have veterans Tyson Frizell or Dylan Lucas available this week.

Lucas is facing a significant recovery period of at least one month after suffering a rare and concerning throat injury during last weekend's action.

Facial Fractures and Origin Audition Delays

St George Illawarra and South Sydney will both be without key outside backs for the foreseeable future.

Dragons center Moses Suli is set to miss around one month of football after scans confirmed an eye socket fracture.

Across town, Rabbitohs young gun Jye Gray has been grounded by an AC joint injury, with the livewire fullback also expected to spend a month in rehab.

Representative ambitions have also taken a hit elsewhere. Cowboys winger Murray Taulagi will miss Round 7 due to HIA protocols, stalling his momentum ahead of the Origin period.

Meanwhile, Penrith will be without Casey McLean for a single week after the youngster accepted a suspension from the Match Review Committee.

Uncertainty Surrounds Reynolds Return at Red Hill

One of the biggest question marks in the league remains the fitness of Brisbane captain Adam Reynolds. After being a late withdrawal last week, a move that surprised very few given his recent adductor issues.

However, there is significant uncertainty regarding whether he will actually take the field or if coach Michael Maguire is simply playing a game of ducks and drakes with the opposition.

With the casualty ward overflowing at Red Hill, the Broncos' medical staff are working overtime to balance the need for competition points against the risk of long-term damage to their star playmaker.
