Panthers Sweat on Yeo Return Date
Penrith received a small slice of good news with confirmation that captain Isaah Yeo will avoid the surgeon's knife after injuring his pectoral in the tackle against the Warriors on Friday night.
The NSW and Australian skipper reeled away clutching his shoulder in the 34th minute and cut a dejected figure on the bench.
Yeo will now begin rehab in a bid to feature again during the 2026 campaign, though a return timeline is yet to be locked in.
Fullback Dylan Edwards (shoulder) is also on the mend and slated for a Round 24 return.
Roosters, Bulldogs and Sea Eagles Feeling the Pinch
Trent Robinson's men were dealt a late blow when James Tedesco was ruled out of the Bulldogs blockbuster, with Cody Ramsey slotting in at fullback.
Tedesco had iced his ankle in Round 22 and is now targeting Round 24.
Canterbury's misery centred on Sitili Tupouniua, who re-tore his hamstring in his first game back after a five-week layoff.
"He's pretty devastated," coach Cameron Ciraldo said. "He was training really well and just excited to get back playing."
Manly's forward stocks copped another hit, with prop Taniela Paseka going down with suspected MCL damage in Perth.
Ethan Bullemor is stood down under concussion protocols, while back-rower Kobe Hetherington is finished for the year after rupturing his bicep at training.
Sharks, Dragons and Eels Add to the Toll
Cronulla centre Jesse Ramien joined the pec-injury club, with coach Craig Fitzgibbon confirming scans would determine the extent of the damage.
Dragons winger Mat Feagai lasted just 30 minutes against the Sharks before a chronic back issue forced him from the field.
"Mat's injury has been an ongoing thing, he has had it for a while," coach Dean Young said.
Parramatta face nervous waits on Isaiah Iongi, who returned to the bench with a knee brace after limping off in the first half.
Coach Jason Ryles flagged concerns over both MCL and PCL involvement, with Monday scans set to reveal all.
Rabbitohs and Titans Wounded Ahead of the Run Home
South Sydney's injury woes rolled on as Ashton Ward pulled up sore in his kicking action against the Eels, straining his hamstring.
Winger Campbell Graham (calf) is expected to miss three to four weeks. Newcastle managed without Bradman Best and Phoenix Crossland (both calf) against the Raiders, though coach Justin Holbrook expects the pair back for the Titans clash in Round 24.
Speaking of the Gold Coast, halfback Zane Harrison has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring tear suffered against the Warriors, becoming the latest name added to a list of casualties already stretching into 2027.
With finals footy edging closer, punters eyeing the NRL markets at Sportsbet will want to keep a close watch on team lists as squads race the clock on recoveries.
